I don't think Discord will really be affected. The Louisiana case seems to center on Roblox advertising itself as a child-friendly place to parents. Discord is already known to be a hive of gamer degeneracy and they make very clear in their safety literature that parents should be directly involved with any teenagers using the service via the family center and that there are people on Discord who should not be interacting with teenagers.

Really the thing that needs to happen in the national conversation is that parents need to be reminded, repeatedly, not to let their children unsupervised onto the internet. Just because you have a friendly touchscreen phone with globohomo icon art doesn't mean it's any less dangerous for children than it was in the 90s and 00s. We've had a stint of like 10 years where a bunch of people got way too used to dumping their kid in front of an iPad and expecting things to just work out.

In order to arrest them, someone first has to investigate and pinpoint the threat. Company itself isn't doing it, and more than that, they're obstructing the efforts of others to do that very thing.
Roblox is condoning existence of predators on their platforms, ignoring reports made by users even with sufficient evidence. It's to the point of criminal negligence.
Yeah, parents need to parent, but that doesn't give these companies an excuse to turn a blind eye to the issue and do literally nothing - it should be in their interest to keep their platform free of such elements, and it raises serious questions why they're so lax.
It's even more egregious because Roblox is marketed for children, everyone knows they're the target audience.
SmashJT didn't think this through, but I'm not surprised at this point.

The one thing that pisses me off is that they can accomplish their goal by making a separate website for adults and keep the kids and adults separate on two different websites. Yes, it's expensive in the immediate term, but making such a decision to make a site will be beneficial long term as said service won't be burdened by rules and regulations that ROBLOX should be bound to. It would both remove the bad reputation the game has and allow for an avenue to make the stock price go up.
