Payment Processor Censorship (Visa / Mastercard / Stripe / PayPal etc) - Discuss Payment Processor/Gateways/Banks censoring people in this thread.

Same with this video I saw passed around.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=sTzBO_BliZ8In the likely event it's taken down. Some guy is proposing his own Internet 2 called "Betanet" that he claims would be on clearnet with no work on the users part. But it would also be immune to censorship due to mutually assured destruction? It doesn't make much sense to me how it would work in practice. It has 171k views.

Reminder that absolutely none of this matters when you take into consideration that online ID verification mandates are still going strong and only becoming more ubiquitous to almost no pushback. Just look at what YouTube is doing today.

Trying to deal with Jewgle's Kikery now. Gee, I wonder if this is why monopolies are Illegal, because they remove all options and recourse... If we actually had a congress instead of AIPAC babysat koshers - maybe things could change.

Edit: Found a workaround - used a picture of an old dude as a proxy. Yup, I'm definitely an 80 year old man with a beard, now fuck off heebs.

A few days ago, Patreon shut down 2 of my NSFW accounts on the SAME DAY for "suspicious activity". The accounts did not have many members (less than 10 each), and I have previously had 0 problems with them during the last few years.

I have one more account with them but I feel like the future is unclear and probably steeped in censorship from corporate fascists. They won't tell me what it was about my content that got me kicked. It was very tame.

Didn't valve announce a new operating system? I must be losing it because that is one hell of a motive right there. We have 4 major operating systems in this world: windows, linux mac and unix. Suddenly valve shows up and says "behold a new option" and Gabe came from microsoft. I think shit just got darker.

Who owns your cloud storage? why spy on the population when they just share their stuff with you? Note how Gog has porn games, tons of them, but as far as i can tell no one is paying attention to them. So either the polish government is based or there is another layer to this.

At the same time we are in the "children of men" timeline but with the added twist that it's not AI overlords but AI waifus.

windows, linux mac and unix
no "unix" is not a major operating system and most of the commercial unix variants have been dead since gnu/linux killed them
macos is also somewhat irrelevant unless you are unfortunate enough to be an applefag or need to compile software for applefag mobile devices
there are 4, but they are these:
  1. gnu/linux, the standard option everybody picks when they need a stable and reliable system
  2. linux with retarded userland (android, etc.)
  3. weird disgusting system with a couple half-decent ideas under a mountain of historical legacy baggage (some from the 16-bit dos days) that only exists on desktops and is slowly dying (windows)
  4. retarded bsd derivatives (freebsd, openbsd, macos is one but it's really weird by the standards of these really weird systems but still not as weird as windows)
as far as i know valve is dumping shitloads of money into #1 because it is the standard basis for computing in the modern world and they are not making a new operating system because it's not economically viable to do that for basically any reason in 2025
by "make a new operating system" you are probably misinterpreting a misinterpretation of some nigger hearing about valve's distribution of gnu/linux, steamos
steamos is actually pretty nice because it does treat you like the owner of the machine and not a security threat like #2
hell iirc it's better than windows but anything is better than fucking windows especially these days

It really depends whether you're using "Unix" as a general term for a group of operating systems, whether you mean UNIX®-certified systems by the Open Group, whether you are just using it as a shorthand for POSIX-compliant OSes (like MacOS arguably is and it is a major operating system), or some purist definition I didn't list.

You also still see AIX and Solaris in a few places, although they're definitely niche at this point and mostly grandfathered in.

I suppose if your point is that "Unix" isn't an operating system at all but an umbrella term for a number of different things, that's true. And GNU/Linux definitely owns the vast majority of the market share of Unix-like operating systems, even though only a couple distros are "UNIX®-certified," and they're pretty fringe one company systems.
We have 4 major operating systems in this world: windows, linux mac and unix.
I'd say Linux specifically, at least if you count anything running the Linux kernel as one "operating system." There are really no non-Linux Unix-like OSes that have a significant market share outside of niche applications or industries.

It's just an executive order and completely nonbinding on any future administration, or even this one if Trump changes his mind. (In addition to it not even being directed to the entities that are doing the bad thing.)
But all my favorite leftist podcasts tell me that Trump is busy establishing the 1000 year VMERICAN EMPIRE and that he just needs to finish throwing the last of the brown people out of helicopters before dissolving the legislature and judiciary, we're not going to have a future administration.

@Colon capital V :

Broke: Porn games getting banned is what kicks off payment processor censorship awareness unfortunately.

WOKE: Libshit furfag porn artists/gooners will have to begrudgingly accept Trump singlehandedly saved their gooner content from being censored (Kamala would never, GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEG)
A ruthless mogging

Apparently Stripe accidentally told people it was blocking gay content across the board and had to backtrack.

Now. Jeet staff just agreeing to anything they're asked like every other fucking Jeet ever? Or them accidentally letting the cat out of the bag?

Remember, as someone on twitter pointed out, the best way possible to force these idiots to stop is to get them to target a protected class. They'll bend over fucking backwards to avoid even the hint of an appearance that they're censoring faggotry or race baiting online. The "Brand Damage" of supporting Roblox's pedophiles is nothing compared to the "actual damage" being sued into the ground by a bunch of ADL connected lawjews for censoring one of their golems.

Ouch optics vibe check failed.

It's probably fine till beard & protected the kids bill pass.

An interesting article just dropped on the perils of setting up "your own payment processor", more or less going over the entire hierarchy of middlemen that are involved every time you swipe your card, and why one does not simply make "your own payment processor". The weird part is that this was linked from fucking Hacker News of all places. The problem that is Visa/MC/Amex/Discover appears to finally be getting the attention of NPCs.

fucking Gelbooru guy. I’m so fucking happy there’s a Gelbooru guy. There’s not a porn hub guy, there’s not an Xhamster guy, but there’s a motherfucking Gelbooru guy and he’s leading the spear charge against the Jewiest Jews known to man.

If you were to take these cretins at their word that this isn't a power grab and they just really want to stop gross porn, why are they so bad at it? Years of unlimited money and truly international power and control, and all they've managed to do is make the problem  worse? Where was this flowery concern about healthy sexual behavior when they were financially attacking family formation for decades and locking people in their homes for two years?
"No, chud. We're not evil. We're actually just RETARDED on a scale impossible before the technological age!"

Also… fucking WEGs and weird Jap porn games? Really? Thats what you bring your guns on first?

We can talk about how weird a bunch of shitty rpg maker games about raping your sister are and how that probably shouldn't be on steam, but if every victim of revenge pornography or exploitation was given the choice (which today, they still don’t) of having an unspeakable number of randos jerking off to that shit or THEM I know what they would take.

It’s like if PETA went after fake hamburgers before going after real ones.

9/11/2001 .
You can tell the person is spitting up normy bait he knows. Stop falling for clickbait because issues now.
Reason: patriot act
Context: yes like josh said before bill semidefunk in its 20 years but it tentacles was spread out need be eliminated to have any good chances of fix payment processor question.
2ndary side quest : India pill josh talked about.
AI context:
The USA PATRIOT Act of 2001 significantly impacted the payment processing industry by broadening the scope of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and strengthening the powers of financial regulators to address financial crimes.
Here's how payment processors have been affected:
1. Increased AML obligations
Expanded definition of "Financial Institutions": The Act expanded the definition of financial institutions covered by the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) to include entities like money service businesses (MSBs), which often encompass payment processors.
Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC): Payment processors, especially those acting as MSBs, are now required to establish robust CDD and KYC programs to verify the identities of their customers (both individuals and businesses) and assess their associated risks.
Transaction Monitoring: Payment processors are expected to implement systems and procedures for monitoring transactions for unusual or suspicious activity that could indicate money laundering or terrorist financing.
Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs): Financial institutions, including payment processors where applicable, must file SARs with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) when they detect suspicious transactions.
Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD): For high-risk customers or those involved in transactions with high-risk jurisdictions, payment processors may need to conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) measures to obtain a more thorough understanding of their activities.
2. Increased regulatory scrutiny and enforcement
Emphasis on Information Sharing: Section 314(b) of the Act encourages information sharing between financial institutions and law enforcement to deter and detect money laundering and terrorist financing, potentially involving payment processors in investigations.
Heightened Compliance Expectations: Even for those payment processors not directly regulated under the BSA, there's an increased expectation from traditional financial institutions (like banks) that they work with, to implement strong AML compliance programs to mitigate risks associated with their transactions.
Penalties for Non-Compliance: Failure to comply with applicable AML regulations can result in substantial civil and criminal penalties, including fines, legal action, and reputational damage for payment processors, according to Miller & Steiert, P.C. and Fenergo.
3. Operational and technological adaptations
Implementation of Robust Compliance Programs: Payment processors have had to invest in developing and implementing comprehensive AML compliance programs, including policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Adoption of Technology for Compliance: The Act indirectly spurred the growth of financial technology, such as AI-driven transaction monitoring and blockchain-based identity verification, to help payment processors streamline their compliance efforts.
Increased Costs of Compliance: Meeting AML compliance requirements can be costly for payment processors, necessitating investments in software, personnel, training, and audits.
In conclusion
The Patriot Act has fundamentally altered the operational landscape for payment processors by significantly strengthening anti-money laundering regulations and increasing the expectations for their role in combating financial crimes. This has led to greater compliance obligations, heightened scrutiny, and the need for significant investments in technology and expertise to ensure adherence to AML requirements.

Josh just said what I have been saying for months. Sadly it's too late for anything to change. We may very well be done for.
