That was a portable 4G or possibly 5G router. Most likely a Huawei E6878, but I could never get a good look at it.

This is a good example of how certain things can actually be more expensive in some poor countries than in rich countries. The poster would have to pay twice as much (in Euros) for a router/hotspot device in Syria vs in Germany. Syria obviously doesn't manufacture cell phones, hotspots or routers.

The situation is probably similar with solar power systems like the one Salah bought. A sufficient system to run an AC would be far too expensive for Chins, who can barely power a CPAP and a simple floor fan with their current set up.

The one logical reason she went to Doha out of all the other options is that she's going back to Canada because it presumably has the most international connections because of Qatar's airline being based out of there.

A lot of Westerners have this idea that every part of Syria was decimated during the prolonged civil conflict, but there are many parts of Syria that look the exact same as they did prior to the outbreak of hostilities and where no violence took place.

In fact, the only areas I can think of off the top of my head that saw no fighting was central Damascus (although the City of Damascus was not unscathed, just the center, as far as I know), and then the coastal areas like Tartus and the Latakia City (although the frontline wasn't far).

Just catching up and I doubt I have anything too new to add to this but:

I love this tell in weak willed narcissists; they're so incapable of showing the slightest amount of self control, but SO convinced that they're great and amazing. In Chantal's case she's SURE that she's actually the very hardworking, hygienic, sweet, submissive, skinny, loyal housewife that (she thought) Nadar always wanted her to be, she just needs the right environment.

I'm going to guess child exploitation in terms of fake charity shit is a dime a dozen in a place like Syria (exploitation in this context doesn't include abuse).

I would guess she's at extreme risk though of getting permanently blacklisted from PayPal and other services though. YouTube probably won't do much but hard to say.

Her alogs are reporting the fuck out of her to PayPal and to be honest they have fairly good cause to do so (I'm not suggesting people do it, I saw it off-site, not here) because of how morally bankrupt this whole thing is.

She really could even be at risk of losing her entire YouTube account permanently for something like this - that stuff is way more plausible happening compared to the Syrian government paying a single second of attention to her given what is going on there.

If she loses main accounts then she is really fucked.
