How much do you want to bet that Mald is going to backtrack and say, "Well, you see, I did all of this to make sure it succeeded, I'm actually the hero" when the initiative passes?
I don't think it'd come to that. That would require mald to even appear to have had a different belief than what he expressed, and that's just not so. His ego won't allow it.

"Uh so yeah, looks like people are willing to ruin the entire live service industry just because they hate me. Crazy. Insane behavior guys. No yeah I'm done, we're going back to auto-modding SKG. People are going to lose their jobs over this, and that's just not what this community is about."

I hope I wake up the last day of this petition and it's at 1.5m views and that fake deep voice fuck is just fuming, just absolutely beside himself with rage.
Are you implying he's not gonna take the stance that he single handedly saved the petition with his sacrifice for the greater good? It's gonna be more like this:

"Oh yeah? You wanna know the truth? It was a ruse. I did it in purpose. Yeah. I knew that everything this petition really needs was an adversary — a devil's advocate as we called it back in my time with Blizzard. I worked at Blizzard. Here let me show you." [Maldavius opens Paint.] This is the petition without me and this... [He draws a big fat ferret cock] this is the petition with me. As you know I'm kind of a hacker or an offensive security specialist expert as we called it in my time with the DoD. I worked for the DoD. There's this kind of hacker attack we call social engineering which means I tricked all of you! I played 4D chess. You Fell for it! It was all a setup! I KNEW from the beginning that the only way to make this work is by becoming the villain. And [Maldavius turns to the camera — His voice drops 2 octaves from a sudden third puberty] I became the Villain you need but not the one you deserve. [Smug grin]"

Really good pace. I hope it continues beyond one mil.

It needs to be without a shadow of a doubt with invalid vote fuckery

I wouldn't be so sure (again, "NO FUCKING BLACKPILLING") about this failing. I'd wager that the text-only boost from PewDiePie already helped massively, considering that only in the past 12 and a half hours—13:30 or so in Brussels—there are already 20,000 signatures just today, and the initiative has already breached the 70% mark today as well. If Pewds were to follow that post up with a full-fledged video, we might see the signature count absolutely explode.
Holy FUCK, today isn't even over for another 5 hours on my end, yet this already might be an all-time record for daily signatures. Six hours after this post, it's gone up by another 25 THOUSAND.

Even the live tracker itself is getting fucking brofisted; the sigs are pouring in that fast that it can barely keep up, and it's struggling to give a live count for the day. Currently though, we're seeing a total of just under 45,000 signatures before the day is over.

Felix, you absolute legend.

:semperfidelis:

E: It just barely managed to update on my end again. I should note that only 5 minutes or so ago the count was at 44,881(?) before it crapped out again. Now it's very likely well over 45,300 at the time I write this, since the live count is once again kill.

It's getting, like... 60-80 signatures a minute? That's at least one signature per second, very likely even more.

I am curious what will happen to gacha if this not only passes but goes global in the perfect result. A lot of gacha flops are because nobody wanted to pay for that product, but it does allow a lot of interesting story ideas to flourish. That is to say, gachas that have an actual story and are not just auto clickers or straight up rugpulls. Making an offline version of the game is the easiest way, but I can't imagine gachas are even fun when you remove the games of chance and the updates dry up. I play a single gacha game and what keeps me coming back is the story updates that I would gladly pay full price for if it was a "real" game.

Just 8 more for Croatia to also break through the Threshold. Every country is another winding of the noose!

Jasons last stream: "You may have stopped the killing of games, but you have killed me!"

Edit: nvm, didn't refresh

Story content (sometimes with MASSIVE lore implications) might be limited time for a while and after that period, it will be included as a permanent event.
Hoping it is some kind of downloadable content you can install and uninstall because the storage space for it is absolutely bonkers

This might also apply to the Destiny 2 content vault which has a shitton of lore locked away

my apologies if someone already pointed this out, but i don't think i saw it over the last couple of pages.
Elon Musk (the real one, with +220m followers) retweeted a post of PewDiePie giving a shout-out to SKG:

(i know archiving is proper etiquette but i don't know how to archive a regular retweet since you cant really link to those afaik?)

Well, the initiative does not apply retroactively so any live service game that exists right now would be at risk. it would be pretty cool if big companies did not use the grandfather clause and made their games follow the new law but a bunch of that would be hard to retrofit. Destiny 2 is really funny because they literally deleted that content. It doesn't exist. They were sued for plagiarism (a weak case against them, actually) but could not de-facto toss it out because they had to rely on someone's lore videos as evidence that it wasn't copied.

Tbf, it COULD have the perverse incentove of people not spending, to make it fail, to hope for a version of the game that just gives everyone access to everything offline.

Highly doubt that it'd ever actually turn out like that though

Makes me wonder what would happen if some company just replaced the whole game, but kept the name, like blizzard did with OW. They could claim its technically still the same game
