Sadly it just does not work and infact harms Red-States eventually and has in many places such as Texas and Georgia.
Liberals and the white people that voted for all of these horrible things to happen will just Leave NYC and will not stay to learn a lesson.
Oh sure they'll say that the price of living or the crime got so bad that they had to leave but they won't connect the dots that it was their decisions that caused it in the first place. They instead think it "Part and Parcel of living in a city....truely a natural occurrence with no one to blame."
What this causes is that these rich libs will leave for Red States and cities in them, Austin and Houston being a big example of this. And once they arrive they are disgusted by it not being liberal enough. So the process begins with them using their wealth, donations, political activist groups etc... but now focused on making the new city as dog shit as NYC, San Fan, etc...
They never have the thought to change their behavior.
Sadly the only way to STOP this chain is giving the Leftist what they want. Which is to be punished / controlled in some way by a higher authority. If Trump declared martial Law in NYC and got rid of every illegal, drug dealer, criminal and LGBTQ pedophile in a month. The liberal will at first fight but very quickly seeing their immediate life improving (clean streets, safety, lower rent, more housing) they will demand that the occupation would never end. And if it did many would vote for someone who promises to continue doing the work that was done.
