I would argue that Ross's approach has been incredibly mature. It's really easy to get into the pig pen and the fact it took him 10 months to even dip his toe in not wanting to take away from the initiative shows a lot of restraint. I wouldn't call would he's doing right now 'soft spoken', just firm and direct without turning it into dramaslop. Thor and the greater internet have done well (us included lol) to do that.

Yeah, and I'd also argue it's been hugely to his benefit - curating a persona of "I don't like fighting people or getting dragged into drama" puts you into a different tier in conversation and almost gives you a sort of implicit moral highground in situations where you do get involved, just look at how people are continuously describing him as such. It's damn good optics, and that's cool because I want people to have more reasons to be good to each other, I think a world that rewards that sort of behavior inclines people towards not being pointlessly antagonistic.

FTL also comes to mind. Really that game had mediocre graphics, servicable mechanics, and admittidely decent enough music, but it was really well liked for having some serious charm, and the devs having enough charecter to give substantial updates LONG after it had already sold a ton.

obviously, the blue box can't be both true because the second statement is obviously false. likewise, the white and black boxes can't be both false since the second statement(for white) and the first statement are obviously true respectively. Therefore, we can deduce the blue box is false, ruling out the white box being the one with gems. Presuming both white and black statements being true, then the gems are obviously in the blue/left box.

This means that this box cannot be the box that contains 2 false statements(since 1 of the statements has to be true because only 1 box contains gems). Because we know the white box cannot be all false, we know can deduce that one of either blue box or black box contains the all false statement, meaning that blue box is atleast all false, since both include the same statement of "the blue box is all true". This means the gems are not in the blue box, leaving black and white. Black states that the gems are in a box with a false statement, which if true, means the gems are in the black box, but that would make white also contain a false statement, and since 1 box has to contain all true statements, the answer is the white/middle box

This one is actually really hard compared to the first 2, and I think I forgot to include that the 3rd box that is neither all true nor all false can contain a true & false statement, so it's a mistake on my part if you guys got this one wrong.
The black box states that the both itself and the white box are all true, but that would create a paradox, so black is all false. To work out which one between blue and white is true, then we must remember that 1 box can be both true and false, while the remaining box must be all true, and the all true box would therefore not have the gems. Since we have deduced that the black box statement that the white box is all true is a false statement, we can assume the blue box is the all true, leaving the gems in white/middle box.
Puzzle 1: The right box has to be true since all boxes contain words, no gems there. The left box is false since the word longest is not the longest word, which means the box which doesnt have the longest word has the gems, since the condition of the middle box "The shortest word has the gems" is fuliflled on both middle and left. Answer is left
Puzzle 2: The right box says that the false statetment has the gems and that the left box is all true, while the left box says it has the gems which contradicts the right box as that would make it a true statement and have the gems. If the right box is neither fully true or false, it could be that the blue box statetments are true, while the gems are in a box with true statetments, that would make the left box the full true box and the middle the fully false box. The left has the gems.
Puzzle 3: Im assuming that both the statetments on the black box are not true, which means the top statetment of the white box is true while the bottom one is not. The left box has all true statetments, this way all conditions are met and the gems are in the middle box
2/3 you just missed that the middle box can't be fully false because then it means 2 boxes have gems. Dw, if you haven't played, this part isn't obvious. Mald getting this wrong is much worse since he's in like 70 hours deep at this point and still assumes that box can be full false.

Honestly those are quite harder than I would expected. I ain't even sure if I did them right.
1: It is in the second box (white). Third one is false because "shortest" is longer than "longest" and it is not in the first because it does not contain "a"
2: It is in the blue box. The white box is full liar, blue box tells the whole truth, black box tells one lie (the gems are in a box with a false statement) and one truth (the gems are in the blue box). This one I had to go over twice LOL, it got me because I forgot the black box can lie.
3: Fuck, I keep switching between white and blue as they boil down to the same thing in the end, I am trying to find the difference and always forget the justification the moment I make up my mind. Black is definitely the full liar, but I just cannot decide who has the whole truth (and thus does not have the gems). An easy copout would be to say that both are true and the gems are in the black box, which is not prevented by either - but I don't feel like this resolves the "paradox" I feel here.
oh sorry zeftax, for puzzle 1, the first box does contain an "A". I'm sure you would've got this correct if it was clearly than a twitch clip since your logic is sound, unlike Mald. And yeah, my third puzzle was not clearly defined so you get a pass on that too.
So, with all the data we have, we can conclude the average Kiwi is better at puzzles on their first attempt than a certain 3 time defcon winner after attempting over 50 of them.
