• He does, at least every hour, bring unnecessary attention to the amount of bans and timeouts in chat
• His mods, as demonstrated in @SlyVMan 's clip, are trigger happy yes men salaried to shape the culture of his community, leading to the echo chamber hugbox that enables his sanctimoniously smug demeanour
  • Most of his mods have been captured by his personality for at least ten years, as confirmed by my previous post listing their aliases in his EVE corps
• His refusal to approach what should be an immediately relevant topic for him with any congeniality is, in his opinion, a waste of time because of, in Ross's opinion, Jason's basic misunderstanding of the mission statements underpinning the STG iniative
  • Ross has admitted to using language liberally to captivate attention, but that shouldn't detract from the iniative's goal - it could've been an opportunity for Jason to contribute meaningfully and restore what little integrity he has as a "developer" in the eyes of his haters
• His deletion of the Twitter response to Ross's latest video indicates a perceived attack or harassment campaign
  • This has been his default modus operandi when appending or removing his past comments as a means to (damage) control the narrative
• After observing his chat for sometime it's become apparent to me he's highly selective of who he responds to

I used to find him funny. I then found him arrogant and overconfident. I then found him misinformed and manipulative. He's now a chimera of all the aforementioned, with a suspect sexual past that remains unaddressed, and Machiavellian.

After Ross's video, which is in its first minute more emotional than anything Jason has produced in his lifetime, I'm finding myself infuriated.

He has deliberately misinformed his community, avoided discussions with well-intended industry advocates, lied about his career, lied about the development cycle of his game, all the while projecting the most unlikeable persona on the internet.

My issue is that begging for the state to decide what is legal and what is illegal is what caused most of the mess in the first place
Even if the state is sane and righteous in declaring what's legal and what is illegal, enforcement of the law is still a state monopoly, you simply have no other legal means of appeal or alternatives
So the people begging for the law to change in a good way are placing their hopes in the same institution that used its legal machinery to criminalize modding, outlaw DRM circumvention tools, enforce software monopolies, punish emulator devs, protect DRM under copyright law, hand publishers the enforcement power to remotely revoke access, and so much more. And all of that in a system where enforcement is carried out through opaque bureaucracies, lopsided court cases, and extrajudicial threats where a multibillion dollar company can get state backing to crush some guy hosting a fan server, and yet no consumer has any realistic way to enforce even basic contract expectations without drowning in legal fees and regulatory indifference.
Do you see my issue with "we need govt to step in and fix this?"
It boils down to "We know the system screws us 100 times over, but there's nowhere else to go, so let's just scream and sob until it fucks us more gently"
