There was a website I perused years back, called Offbeat Bride. It was all about alternative wedding ideas. I thought I was getting tips on best Etsy purchases or homemade wedding crafts; alas, two pages of ideas in was a polycule ceremony. For fun and torture, I decided to read a shitload of writeups for various cringe wedding ceremonies, from pagan gay handfastings to goth dance parties with readings from the Necronomicon. One of these struck me.

It was a “humanist, nonreligious commitment ceremony” held in a forest, and a recitation of so-called vows, including something along the lines of “no jealousy in our life pursuits”, and some blather about “if we should follow down different paths, etc.” essentially talking about divorcing amicably.

You had friends and family witness what was supposed to be a union of two people, and I realized, they just went on a really expensive date. That is not a marriage. That is a date with a cake and a vacation, with no strings attached. I’d want my damn money back.

Where'd a bunch of Nick's oldest streams go? Looks like the first 14 or so of them have vanished.

Youtube's current layout of having separate tabs for videos, shorts and livestream VODs wasn't implemented until about 2021 or so. I recall there being a period where Nick was posting his VODs to a separate archive channel to declutter his feed (at the time he said it was because he was going to start doing a bunch of short form content...which never ended up happening).

The Livestreams going on a different channel did happen at at some point, but there were definitely earlier streams on his main channel until (relatively) recently. That's strange.
