To be clear, LUS in this video seems to be claiming or implying Karl owes Billy $1.8M. He does not owe him that amount of money, but this seems to be how much money has been put into this case by Karl and his supporters when you combine the judgment with interest, his legal fees, Billy's lawyer fees, etc. if Karl is to be believed here.

Well it is fascinating how easily people flip. Had he won the lawsuit so many would be silent. Now there's a pileup. It doesn't excuse any of his weasling, its just humanity at its most trivial and typical.

I never liked Jobst and his focus on Billy. But many did.

This mindset that speedrunning is a secret club you can be banned out of is stupid. I don't care if you're Adolf Hitler if Adolf by chance happened to jump taller than anyone in recorded history than you kind of just have to accept that no matter how awkward it is. If some famous serial killer like Jeffrey Dahmer happens to get the high score on Q*bert than you should just accept it you can't just go "well it doesn't count because he's a bad person."

That's how real world records work. If I pick up a book of Guinness World Records to find out who the tallest guy ever is than I expect them to actually tell me who the tallest guy ever is and not go "well this guy was technically taller but he doesn't count because he said something offensive about black people on twitter once so we're gonna pretend he doesn't exist".

First you have to pay them to come certify it, they don't just certify records randomly nor do they go looking for people/hold contests/whatever so them saying "this is the person with the largest second toe" is because some guy paid them money to make that category and go yea, I guess. They also DO pick who they work with, they have full discretion (and do for whatever reason they want) just decide not to come certify the record you want in. 100% certainty if Hitler offered them money to confirm he has the coolest mustache or most efficient bakery they would refuse it.
