I can shed some light on this. In Israel, there are very few pro-Palestine lefty commie types (because well no shit). The closest I could think would be something like an LBJ Great Society type democrat. I think she's more right-wing than Ethan (who grew up in California), but she's not precisely "TMD Trump is based #greaterisrael".

IIRC Chinese people have an issue with pronouncing Ls and often substitute with Rs and Japanese and Koreans have problems with Rs and often substitute with Ls.

Ls are a thing in Chinese (at least Mandarin, but I’m sure they’re in Canto). Conversely, Rs aren’t really a thing in Chinese.
