Phil really is a walking example of how NOT to network. Talking shit about past companies on public forums, and burning bridges with practically everyone he knows.

Dude is a ticking time bomb.

DSP really is an interesting study in psychology. Take his Instagram for instance. 90 percent of his posts are his television screen.

Is that a chameleon? Oh, please don't tell me he owns one of those. Poor thing. :(
Chameleons are expensive and tough for even experienced pet owners. He's going to kill it within the year.

it's actually true.

Shit on the aircraft company (he was so undervalued)
shits on youtube (they bought his house)
Shit on his old friends co-op partners (they backstabbed me)
Shit on Machinima (didn't use his talent)

Nobody escapes without being scalded, except for Panda Lee so far.

The amount of delusion and unwarranted Self Importance in this post is beyond any measure.

Management gave him additional responsibilities but never paid him for it? So now we know he's lying and management never gave him additional responsibilities or thought he could do more than answer the phone and emails (like I've said, he wasn't in aeronautics he was in customer service.)

Also, he keeps going on about YouTube not being transparent with changes or not telling him what's going on. How the flying fuck does he think YouTube telling him this stuff would have helped him? Even if it would have, it's the point of these types of algorithms changing to weed out people gaming them, not to tell people how to game them? Search rankings are not guidelines for publishers to adhere to to become popular, they're for viewers to know what's likely to be relevant to them. Of course Phil doesn't get that: he thinks YouTube decided he isn't relevant when in fact YouTube users did.

That'll change by the end of the year. And I sincerely hopes she comes here or goes to the SoK and tells all.

All the youtube changes did fuck him over but they were justified in doing so.

2012 algorithm change nerfed his ability to spam youtube with uploads and show up on front page
2015 algorithm change made it so amount of videos clicked isn't as relavant but rather viewer engagement again fucking him over

Both of these things make content better for viewers and content creators. It eliminates users who shit out content nobody wants to watch. And honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he uses a view bot or something. I'm more likely to sit through one 15 min idubbbz video than 20, 30 min DSP videos.

I don't get how anyone sat through DSP videos the first place. He is just so repugnant to watch and listen to. I can't even watch those 'DSP tries' videos cut to mock him. He is just so fucking stupid. Its doubly hard because he got insanely lucky and is just so completely ungrateful for it and overbearingly arrogant. Not to mention pretending its hard work. He doesn't even use fucking editing software or a green screen or have a home studio. He is just recording it and uploading the raw recording to the internet. Fuck off cunt.

I really hope he never gets a dog. He's too much of a selfish cunt too really respect a dog. It would be amazing if the dog scratched at the door while he streamed and interrupted his khantent.

This is the key thing which Phil seems to not understand. The changes made to YouTube weren't made with the express intent of fucking him over as he keeps repeating; these changes were made to modernize and help drive up traffic on YouTube. More relevant content means users are more engaged. More engagement means the potential for more ads to run, which in turn means more revenue flowing into and through YouTube and Google.

DSP was hit by the 2012 algorithm changes because his idea of content delivery was synonymous with spam. While a small amount of his fanbase might have enjoyed this, he became infamous for this aggressive style of inbox flooding. He was just one of many YouTube content creators who were guilty of this; but was likely the worst example of it among the gaming section of the site. Being that he hates the idea of having to make an effort to change and evolve for his "business," of course he saw it as a personal attack.

The 2015 changes were part of a massive overhaul of content in general on YouTube. The idea of YouTube being a viable option for longer-format videos was a far-reaching change in the development of the site. However, changes had to be made in order for the focus to be on making content that brought in and engaged viewers (once again, the whole ad revenue thing) for as much of a longer video as possible. In all honesty, I think YouTube needed to do this in order to survive. It's resulted in such things as entire styles of programming being developed on YouTube in the last several years. However, it caused a bigger problem for people like Phil. When other channels are providing longer content that more consistently holds onto viewer attention and engagement, his videos start to plummet in terms of search priority ranking.

In reality, YouTube never directly fucked him over. Nothing was ever done in a manner where messing with his channel was a goal for any of the suits. It just so happens that he was exploiting certain loopholes that were eventually patched. He also has had a notoriously hard time modernizing and adapting to better the state of his so-called business. Some folks have called this a possible sign of autism spectrum within the guy; honestly, I think he's just a lazy person looking for the easiest possible way to make a living.

Back in the day he would address this in his Vlahgs. A lot of "fans" said that they would sub to him but they don't want to deal with a flood of videos. Phil's response? Blame YT for not catering to spammers.

He may have had a decent point up until YT changed the upload restrictions which went through around 2010 or so I think.

I'm pretty sure he's already managed to kill those hamsters.

he confirmed both hamsters are dead. He uploaded a video of one of them spazzing out in its cage in a somewhat disturbing manner so if this and the fact that they had to spend all their lives caged next to a fat gouty manchild was anything to go by they probably welcomed death...
