I'm not talking, in this instance, about widespread manufacturing. I'm talking specifically about the American (and Uk/European) companies that buy a product from China, made by slave labour, for cheap as fuck, and put a ridiculous mark-up on the product for nothing other than sheer greed.
$30 is the cost to make an Iphone, yet Apple sell them for $1500. That's not good, at all. I'm not saying they should make no money, but $1500?! They can fuck off. I would like $99 and would swallow $199, but $1500 on a single item that costs $30 is fucking scandalous.

Apple makes about 25 cents of profit off every dollar of revenue, not 98 cents ( ($1500 - $30) / $1500 x 100% = 98%).

As for R+D with Apple, it's already been done with every previous phone. The cost to the new development of R+D is a constant cost and budgeted for every year. The department doesn't just do 1 phone, it will work on a multitude of products and that cost for the budget is split between the unit price of those products, past, present and future.

It doesn't matter that it's budgeted for, it's still an operating cost that gets paid for via revenues. 100% of the budget has to be paid for out of sales, since Apple doesn't have a money printer. It cost $297.3 billion dollars in 2024 to run the Apple corporation. That's all R&D, all marketing, all sales, manufacturing, legal costs, the janitors, lawn services, building leases, everything. They made $391.0b revenues for a 24% profit margin. That's a really good profit margin, but if they were making $1500 revenue for every $30 of cost like you imagine they do, they'd be making about $19,000 billion a year.

Yeah we hear this bullshit from the pharmaceutical industry a lot too.

They're a publicly traded company, so you can look at the quarterly earnings report. And if you feel like Apple profts are massively unfair, you can go to www.etrade.com and buy AAPL shares so those unfair profits go into making you, personally better off.

I still have no clue what 50501 is protesting or what they want to change. Is it just a temper tantrum to show the world you have TDS?

At least you could sort of tell what BLM wanted, even if what they wanted was pants-shittingly retarded.

Give me rubbish bins, top hats and puzzle pieces, but I don't believe a company legitimately costs the same GDP of Finland to operate. Because if it does, then the system is completely retarded.

Assuming they aren't just lying, big assumption I know, I wonder if this is some sort of pyramid scheme. Where they recruit deranged bored people, encourage them to volunteer and buy their merchandise with the promise being if you do enough grunt work then eventually you'll be promoted to a position which pays something and that just never happens.
It is a pyramid scheme in many ways. 501c's are very often scam organizations meant to bilk rubes. Anyone who does free work for a 501c political organization is a mark and they deserve whatever happens to them.

The system is completely retarded. Apple’s market cap is dependent on people buying annual incremental hardware upgrades as a fashion statement and an extension of their identity. They’ve made planned obsolescence cool.

For full disclosure I am a macfag but the MBP I use daily works just as well as the day I bought it five years ago. My AppleTV is seven years old and still works great. I think Apple products are well built and last a long time. Doesn’t stop millions of people from buying the new iPhone because it comes in a different color and with an additional camera lens, though.

Bottom of the barrel definition of "doing something" that anyone can take part in, no matter if they are smart enough to see the reason for the protest. Probably also has basically no requirements to get in so anyone with any grudge could show up.

You seem like you know a lot about what it takes to produce, ship, advertise, and service almost $400 billion worth of products. Where, based on your vast knowledge, do you think they're coming up with all these illegitimate (in your mind) costs, and why would they want to underreport their profitability? Do they perhaps feel their stock is too high and want to keep it down (???).

Apple’s market cap
Do you know the difference between market cap and revenue?

PLS TRUMP

CROSS THE RUBICON

DO ET

DO EEEEETTTT
He want hear them out .
The issue is answer more than question.
Most of time the answer is fucking conspiracy theory being right.
*** please supreme court give the biggest black pill 💊 that Joe bidden flying people immediately gave them us citizenship. (Bet circle back labeled under dreamer act)**

Fag still believing the media lie.Wyświetl załącznik 7243472
They literally believe "president locks up the criminals" makes him a dictator. Amazing. I can't tell what's more astounding, that they're simping for "UWU widdle softboi drug dealing child trafficking mass murdering organized crime leaders wot dindu nuffin wrong" or that the idea that you can just lock up the worst elements of your society using harsh punishment for lawbreaking and do this repeatedly and the only repercussions are that everything about your culture/country/civilization gets noticeably better with every iteration is just an unthinkable nightmare to them.

I'll be honest, which I know is rare online, but I don't want to believe it. It may be true, it probably is, but I just don't want to believe that 1 company is as powerful as a NATO ally. That they hold/move/own so much capital as a company is terrifying.
The snarkiness isn't required though, this isn't a marvel film.

Lastly, the other interesting thing about these protest are the yellow shirts. Usually in a construction vest with a walkie talkie who larp as security but harass any conservative journalist who try to talk to protestors or cover the event. Including blocking paths, spitting, pushing, playing copyrighted music, stalking and various other passive aggressive behaviors such as obstructing cameras
couldn't you just push them aside if they spat on you or blocked your view? 95 percent sure you wouldn't be charged for assault, or get the case dropped

Most of you know but for review, the “news cycle” begins on Monday. (Usually) I am a bit curious what the weekly soap opera will be about this time.

So much so, I almost want to wake up early and see what the big names like NYT put on the agenda. That’s also, (usually), how it works, but in 2025 I don’t know if newspapers drive the media any more. It could be the blogosphere that does.

What do you guys think the outrage du jour will be this week?

few ideas:

1: donald trump shows up to WrestleMania (highly doubt)
2: Trump deported a woman to El Salvador
3: 51501 protestor shot and killed in public brawl

yeah more glorification of 50501 seems likely. Not to mention that dindu that stabbed another kid in the heart fits the “if it bleeds it leads” rule. That story still has some legs since it’s ongoing.

It also could be more Russia crap.
