Metabolites are the result of the body processing cocaine and they are deposited inside the hair, not the outside.

I take it to mean that Nick is coping that some cocaine "magically settled" on the child's hair at some point while we know form the drug test that coke metabolites were found in the child's hair follicles. Read the forum and there are lots of research already posted. Namely the amount of cocaine metabolites found in her hair doesn't support your "theory." It wasn't trace amounts, it was 10x a drug user min level. That would check out if they found only a few metabolites. IIRC the amount of metabolites found corresponds to actual usage.
