I have no idea what connection Chromium has to Ironspike but some of the posts in question allude to some type of relation between the two, alleged child abuse, retweets mentioning Ironspike helping create the burnedfurs, seething about the burnedfurs spreading "hate", demands to shutter her kickstarter, supposed phonebooking, and threats. Well, the people on this site sure weren't kidding when they said the burned furs were about as big as if not bigger faggots than the people they were complaining about. Should've been called the a-log furs. I feel the furries probably really amp up just how the burned furs were so they can try to make the enemy-image stick on just about any furry that criticizes the fandom, because that's a hard level of faggotry to match right there.

I really doubt the statement "squee rat set a lot of hate in motion" is even remotely true, it's shaping up like the burned furs were such huge faggots they hardly had any impact and the only reason anyone even remember they existed is because furries use them as a bogeyman to strawman out all internal criticism. Most of the "hate" furries get is from everywhere else. Personal preference. You're autistic and really like an animal? Then you pick that one. Like certain colors or theming? Then you work that in.
Some also pick based on more personal reasons. I've definitely heard of people picking fursonas based on their "spirit animal".
A lot also just buy a premade design (an adopt) and use that.
The funniest is when they pick an animal they look like. I remember seeing someone with a boar/pig character who happened to be very overweight, have tiny feet, and a little pushed up pig-like nose. It was apparently unintentional but still, made me laugh.

A lot of the furries from the 2000s and 2010s were attracted to the fandom via franchises they liked - Sonic the Hedgehog, Pokemon, Disney, My Little Pony etc. So whatever character they liked the most probably influenced their decision on what to base their fursona around. Most fox furries probably liked Miles "Tails" Prower or Disney Robin Hood, for example.

I realized I was a furry when I saw in pictures I made when little, that my imaginary friend was some sort of golden canine-like beast with huge fangs and sharp teeth, bulky like a freight train, and red triangular eyes.

And despite all of that, she was like an astral mother for me, defending me like a pup until she accidentally burned a curtain, and my mother kicked her out.

Some really esoteric shit, if you ask me.
