It's less that and more that great moddable games are great games that can be built on. Doom, Half-Life, Skyrim, Xcom. Games like Rimworld have no meaningful content in the base game and exist as a platform for mods.I kind of dislike when the majority of discussions around modifiable games became more about mods than the base game itself.
Tax. I mentioned these before but-
On the one hand, there's shit made with plug ins that chugs despite being basic. And then there's the other side who expect Starfield to run at 4k ultra 144fps on a 15 year old laptop. When I see people complaining that a SATA (not a SSD, a SATA) hard drive is an unreasonable ask, I have to wonder what is wrong with these people.nu-devs see tech as something you just slap on and don't need to optimize, so everything is just "meh, it runs".
Because every avenue is closed to them. Pixel art = Shit. Low poly PSX = Shit. Low poly flat = Shit. Stock assets = Shit. Creative workarounds = Good once, then shit.I have zero respect for indie developers as a whole since they are only capable of making pixel shit or RTX tech demos.
