2024 Syrian opposition offensives - The first Syrian rebel offensive against Government forces since March 2020

If Russia is collapsing there is one big benefit. Cheaper Slavic whores. In a world plagued with inflation it would be good to see a massive reduction on Vodka Sloppies.

"keep me in power so I can sell more drugs" is in fact not conducive to a motivated army

Kind of bizarre how the standing army just gave up and Assad disappeared into the night. I guess the checks didn't clear. Didn't seem like there was much of a resistance.
The soldiers were paid peanuts and frequently abandoned positions to attend second jobs. Commanders lied about inventory that they sold off to the black market. Just a big mess.

Putin really sacrificed two of his allies (Armenia and Syria) to Turkish backed forces because he wanted to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of soldiers for a couple oblasts in Ukraine.
Seems like a pretty good trade. The Sea of Azov for some countries nobody gives a fuck about.

The similarities to the fall of Kabul in 2021 are unbelievable. As they say, you can lead the horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

I don't know. The US was surprised by the quick collapse in Kabul. There are no hasty Russia withdrawals here with people clinging on to planes trying to escape. Some kind of deal seems to have been made here we just don't know what that looks like yet. Maybe Putin traded Syria for Ukraine?

Well, to be fair, we don't know what the fate of those two bases will be (Tartus and Khmeimim). They could very well lose them, but so far the HTS has been reluctant to make any definite moves on them.

You think Russia is getting BTFO in Ukraine but they have a future in Africa? Can you please be consistent with your spergery.

OK, time for the refugees to go back. Oh wait they'll just come up with some new bullshit excuse. I guess they'll all claim to be Christian now, right? Since a bunch of Jihadis are taking over? I guess there's still a war. Will the other rebels fight each other for power now?
