It doesn't make much sense, to me at least, to say he had something else on his nose and that all he does is performance art if Nick's going to turn around and just plea guilty.

I see this delay as a good thing to happen as it gives the authorities more time to build a case against Baldo for the computer crimes against Aaron Imholte. What a scenario for the December settlement conference hearing to arrive, Nick is facing additional felony charges filed against him, and he is sitting in another county's jail trying to get bail.
