Anybody else check out this guys channel? Its a fairly decent look into US intelligence agencies during WW2 and the Cold War, and he's got more videos on this topic coming up.

I like this channel, sources his info and corrects any significant mistakes in subsequent videos, it also serves as confirmation bias for me because holy shit I hate the CIA so goddamn much it's almost unreal and these videos serve to reinforce my hatred for it.

I recommend his videos on the French connection, it goes over the history of the opium trade in French Indochina and how it was picked up by the CIA as the French were withrawing from the region.

One of the major reasons why Truman scrapped the OSS was because it was filled with communists and with the fall of Republican China, the Iron Curtain closing, and Korea about to become a warzone Truman couldn't have a spy agency filled with spies working for the other side.

People who tend to oppose the CIA for not being pro communism rather than not being pro america enough tend to jump unto the Dulles and IG Farben connection and the Bush and Thyssen AG connection.
This ignores that both the owners of Farben and Thyssen got removed from power when the war began for not supporting the nazi regime. This got people like Friedrich Thyssen sent to Dachau and the jewish Arthur Weinberg a one way ticket to a death camp.

The OSS helped many of the people who would form the Frankfurt School into finding employment and credibility in the United States yet we're supposed to believe they were even comparable to Operation Paperclip.
