I first heard that term way before I peaked or whatever. I honestly thought it was a term that a few idiots on Twitter may have used or it was used once in one article somewhere and TERF’s were making a mountain out of a molehill. Then I realised that no, some medical professionals were actually trying to make it into a thing. Then saw people defend the term.

Then people got up in arms and started calling Ana Kasparian a TERF for saying she didn’t like the term. Literally everything she had ever said previously about the trans topic was supportive. Fucking bonkers. No wonder previous “allies” turn.

You take a highly self conscious kid with likely some history of abuse or mental/intellectual dysfunction and raise them to think that if they don't like their bodies or themselves, there's medical tricks and treatments they can do to change them from head to toe.

Then, some realists come in and say "that's fucking dumb and untrue, we aren't going to be doing that to kids"


...yeah, no wonder they'd end up suicidal. They're too young to understand the science or the sense behind why stopping their puberty at 14 is in their best interest. They just got sold a magical and fairly simple cure: take these pills, do these surgeries and everything you hate about yourself disappears. They're going to stick with that shit like they stuck with the idea of Santa Claus until their brain (hopefully) develops enough for that light switch to flip
