The Trump campaign on Sunday said former President Donald Trump is “safe following gunshots in his vicinity.”

“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement that did not provide additional details.

The former president was playing golf at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. The course was immediately locked down, according to a source familiar.

The Secret Service said on X that it is working with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a protective incident involving Trump. The Secret Service said the incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m.

Trump taken to safety after Secret Service opens fire on man with possible gun at his Palm Beach golf club​


Donald Trump was taken to safety by the Secret Service after agents opened fire on a man who was spotted with what may have been a gun while the former president was on the links, according to law enforcement sources.

Sources said the Secret Service spotted a suspicious individual on the Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach, and opened fire when agents saw what appeared to be the barrel of a gun.

It’s not clear whether the man was on the course or near it.

An agent opened fire, shooting multiple times.

“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said Sunday afternoon.

The man was later arrested by local police on I-95.

It comes almost exactly two months after Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump at a rally in Butler, Pa. on July 13 — wounding him in the ear.

Sen. Lindsey Graham took to X minutes after news of the shooting broke to laud the former president for his fortitude.

“Just spoke with President Trump. He is one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. He’s in good spirits and he is more resolved than ever to save our country.”

The West Palm Beach course is about five miles inland from Mar-a-Lago, which Trump dubbed the “Winter White House.”

The Secret Service — which came under widespread criticism following the July assassination attempt — wrote on X that it was investigating a “protective incident” involving the former president that occurred shortly before 2 p.m.

The agency said it’s coordinating with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office on the investigation.

Initial reports suggested two people were firing at each other. However, sources said investigators now believe the Secret Service agent was the only shooter.

The man’s motives are not yet known. He was arrested by Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies.

The White House issued a statement soon after the incident: “The President and Vice President have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was golfing. They are relieved to know that he is safe. They will be kept regularly updated by their team.”

I suppose ‘yes.’ The more incompetent they are the less likely the full feudal enslavement is. I know the British government is trying very hard to get us back to feudal times, but I allow myself a little sliver of optimism when I realise they fuck up absolutely everything they touch. IT systems, Scottish parliament builds, HS2, everything. The fact they’re running people like Angela raynor and Diane abbot should bring us cheer. The dimmer and more venal they are, the more chance we have really. Diane Abbott once turned up not just wearing two odd shoes, but both of them were left shoes.

This guy seems to be a Republican in the same way Pat Tomlinson is, I.E, not at all.
 
I suspect the CIA/FBI must REALLY not want those JFK files to finally be declassified. The Democrat party and a huge portion of its constituents have gone batshit insane, and I’m not even a Republican. They’ve been getting fairly crazy and brazen since Obama’s second term, but after Trump got inaugurated into office in 2016 (technically 2017 but whatever) people on both sides, mostly on the left, have lost their fucking minds. Then the Covid bullshit put the super insanity into overdrive and made it all far worse than it was before and we are in for a rude awakening methinks.

I fear we are witnessing the beginning of the fall of the West, if not the US. I hope that turns out to be a good thing, just learn to change and adapt for better or worse. Learn to hunt, gut, skin and butcher animals efficiently. Learn how to identify edible mushrooms. Build “ghost guns” at home, whether by 3D printer or finishing 80% frames/receivers, it’s really not hard with the right tools (and printer settings if applicable). I just finished an LR-308 lower today and am going to assemble the rifle tomorrow in 6.5 Creedmore for longer distances than my .308s can reach. Get reloading tools and equipment as well and learn how to safely reload ammo and do proper quality control so you don’t blow up your rifle or get a squib lodged in the barrel. Firearms and ammo are essential, with or without a societal collapse.

We knew that already tho, given that they mocked the very idea of 3 debates until after the one, at which point she was already demanding a second one -- a do over -- before they even left the building. As discussed in the main politics thread, she needed this debate to get her sound bytes, attack ads, and give people a reason to vote for her. She failed on all 3 aspects, and Trump was able to get some solid body blows in ("She's been in power 3 and a half years, why hasn't she done anything she's promising to do next year now?"). She needed to gain ground on him, she didn't. At best it was a wash, at worst he gained from the debate.

So. The internal polling, which they're refusing to let us see, must be Apocalyptic. The only way she's polling even or slightly ahead of T Money is by massive oversampling of Dems, which I would hope to god they're smart enough not to do internally.

Listen, when I post things like this, I generally do so without particularly presenting an opinion. Trump I find funny, but I don't have a hat in any political ring whatsoever. Left wing, right wing, people are all batshit crazy in many varied different ways, and that's amusing but that's about the limit of my interest. Just an FYI.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I suspect this attempt won't even change the polling by a whole lot. People are already entrenched in their own beliefs with the left suspecting these attempts are staged to garner sympathy points while the right freaks out over the slightest bit of shooting being some sort of "assassination attempt" on Trump's life.

In reality, it's most likely because of Trumps Chris-Chan like behavior, he opened the floodgates for crazy psychos to just fuck with trump on a near daily basis. This is exactly the case the first time trump got shot. There was a news blurb and no one gives a shit soon after.

And the debate got a ton of soundbytes of trump talking about schizo conspiracy theories on 4chan rather than talking policies.

This isn't 2016.
