Ketamine is a serious dissociative, especially when taken wtih the intention of actually having a high-tier trip. It's a bad idea to take it alone even if you are experienced, and a terrible idea if you're using it to treat some actual mental disorder and have no idea how you'll actually react to it.

I'm not sure what they're aiming for in use as a legitimate pharmaceutical, but it can literally untether you from reality to the point you don't even remember you took a drug at all and can't really interact with the world in any meaningful way. You have to avoid any situation where that can cause you to do something that physically harms you. (This is often termed a "k-hole" because it's basically like being in your own pocket universe.)

The Rekietas are not people who should have access to this shit even if you don't believe that nobody at all should.

I actually went to a Carlin show at the historic Saenger Theater in New Orleans (where Richard Pryor filmed Here and Now) and it was crushingly bad. He walks out with a notepad, tells the audience that he was working on material for his next HBO special and then reads jokes to us from the notepad for an hour before leaving.

I like Carlin a lot but as a live performer, he sort of reminds me of Dylan and Zappa in terms of contempt for his audience. Dylan could be phenomenal but sometimes he'd just show up and half-ass it and mumble his way through a set. Zappa wasn't as hit or miss as a performer, but he'd do things like show up and refuse to play any of his new album that people had shown up to hear and instead play nothing but weird shit the audience hated, apparently just to piss them off.

Selling tickets to a paying audience to basically deliver a dress rehearsal is peak arrogance, though.

No to the first. It's been taken "under advisement," which essentially means the court considers it fully briefed and ripe for a decision.

That depends on the law in MN. Witnesses here can testify remotely and often do in certain types of cases. They're still giving evidence under oath in real time and are able to be cross examined.

It also depends on the Due Process Clause of the Constitution. Even if Minnesota has a long-arm statute that specifies that it extends to the outer limits of federal DPC jurisdiction, it might not apply here. Long-arm jurisdiction is at its strongest against foreign defendants who have caused harm in-state, but relatively weak when it comes to nonresident witnesses who have done no business in the state.

Even if Geno has done business in the state (and appearing on a stream with someone who is in the state might qualify though I do not know the facts of this for Geno), that still doesn't necessarily mean that Minnesota can hale him into court, much less compel him to travel to Minnesota to testify in a case where there's no allegation he is even personally guilty of any wrongdoing, but he was simply the recipient of so-called "revenge porn" he did not solicit.

Generally, any attempt by a defendant to enter evidence of good character into the record "opens the door" to any evidence that would rebut that claim.

So if you argue you're innocent because it would be totally out of character for you to have shoplifted, they can introduce evidence you have been convicted of it repeatedly (this would usually be prohibited), and if you are arguing at sentencing that you deserve leniency because of your prior good character, it's relevant to point out that no, you are actually a complete piece of shit who deserves the book thrown at you.

I think the Dear John thing is inside pool enough that most people wouldn't get it without some lengthy explanation of the context, but it (and anything similar including the deranged cokestream) would be generally admissable subject to the "is it more probative than prejudicial" balancing test.
