That's because only 5 trans women are in women's prison, the remainder are all in men's prisons.

The policy is that any trans woman with a dick and/or guilty of a sex offence is automatically banned from going into any women's prison, so given 70% of trans women prisoners are convicted of sex offences, and the rate of "bottom surgery" in trans women is approximately 5%-13% you'd anticipate there would only be between 3 and 8 transgender prisoners who could even apply for a risk assessment to be transferred to HMP Downview.

The majority of trans women prisoners are held in vulnerable prisoners units in men's prisons for their own protection - which is also where they put sex offenders anyway. You'll also note there are zero trans men in men's prisons and absolutely no push for it whatsoever. Non-binary is less clear but much like prisoners claiming to have converted to Judaism to get the nicer catered kosher meals, I'm sure there's a chunk of those whose egg cracked in prison so they could go into VPU and get their own cell with no cell mate.

Not sure if your from the uk or not but over here unless the judge passes a suspended sentence you have to serve 50% inside as standard. Their are the odd exceptions like this temporary 40% and 2 thirds for certain sentences. And of course home detention curfew where you can spend up to 6 months I think after you've served at least 25% at home on tag.

Now this is where the sex offenders and by extension troons get treated better, just like open prisons and bail hostels etc the wronguns make up 75% despite being the minority in the prison population. After all who cares about their next victim, as long as they'll be more compliant for their probation officer!

Then of course theirs the sentence in the first place, sell drugs and even absolute bottom of the ladder your getting 3-4 year's where as only 20% of sex offenders get prison in the first place let alone the shitty sentences when they do.
