What conspiracy theories do you believe in? - Put your tinfoil hats on

I remember our (cat lady) 4th grade teacher getting extremely emotional urging us greedy little losers to stop letting the faucet run while we were brushing our teeth, because it was going to end up literally emptying the oceans.

The retardation is remarkable, looking back, but the apparent sincerity of the useful idiots even more so.

In fairness, there's no reason other than laziness not to turn the tap off when you're not using it. But it's not going to save the world either.

It isn't something that matters enough to pass judgment on it either way. Terrorizing a bunch of dumb kids over it- "one day you will die of thirst because you let the water run for 30 seconds every night"- is just plain evil.

I think the only thing people need to look at for proof of the global warming sham is Al Gore.

Didn’t he tell us that alllll of the coastlines would be flooded in a matter of years right before buying himself a coastline property?

Seems like a bad idea, right?

One that I’ve heard recently that tracks is that there’s been a massive wave of video content pouring out from china these last several years that display this super cushy lifestyle as a PR coverup for the fact that a majority of the population lives in crushing poverty, even by chinese standards. I can believe it because it coincides with studies done that have concluded a rise in a lot of problems that go along with being impoverished, such as the rise in postpartum depression and alcohol abuse.

Talked with my uncle who is a geologist and he bascially said all this climate change stuff is real but the way our governments are running things is a total fucking sham because they're all too scared shitless to be honest with the citizenry about how fucked we really are. So all these things are just window dressing so that they can keep their power until the clock runs out.

I was promised the rain forest was going to be gone by the year 2000. Its still their, full of fucking gay spiders and other horrifying things that I will never think about.

The only way it’s changing is when the Muslims take over, and then the fasd will be replaced by inbreeding disorders.
I mused about this a week ago to my girlfriend, i noticed that when i see Downies these days they all seem to be of turkish or arab descent, same for other obvious-at-a-glance intellectual disabilities. First-cousin marriage/reproduction over generations really fucked up some of these countries, i read Egypt sits at the top with 85% of all marriages being that.

@rusty shackleford 1 if you’re talking about Reddit parenting groups, a lot of those posters are literal teenagers and childless people who are either working out issues with the way they were raised or LARPing for escapism.

I get super angry any time online safety comes up and some retard has to chime in with “Kids know more than you think, man, just talk to them about it and be cool, maybe trust them” then I remember that there’s a 99% chance it’s a teenage boy with a curfew.

Still, I agree with you that there are actual parents contributing to this idiocy.

Scarily enough it’s actually all on Facebook. A cursory glance at the profiles and most of them aren’t new accounts. I’m sure there are plenty of fake accounts there but they appear to be real people with pictures of their children posted dating back years when I check the more egregious profiles. One of the groups is admittedly a shitpost “call CPS” group and there are a ton of childless people there with mommy and daddy issues like you mentioned but there are just as many “I’d totally dress my daughter like this” parents.

@Otterly I’ve been thinking about that idea for a while, there’s a goldmine of wtf in mom and parenting groups that often leaves me scratching my head and fearing for the future of the kids. I think a thread like that would have a lot of contributors.

Yup, that’s him. He went on to make the Jeepers Creepers series. The worst part? The third film has a scene where the female protagonist tells about the time she was molested.

Like wtf dude was legit making movies for his spank bank and nobody cares.

I hate this timeline.

Thread tax - Joe Biden has been dead since a week before the Trump shooting.

That whole movie Powder, I had the uncomfortable feeling that the movie was a romp through someone's sweaty unconscious. He directed that one too, I think.

Thread tax: Mayans/Aztecs built cities much further north, including one in the Louisiana swamps and north Florida, also Vikings in Appalachia and central Mexico and the arctic north, where they survived after the Greenland colonies were abandoned much longer than anyone thinks.

It really is. We are very pale and the last thing I want is loads of cutouts. Just a suit, nice bright non blue colour, maybe a tropical print. Not low or high cut, just a suit. Absolutely zero problem getting things for the boys. My solution was to just use nice rash tops and shorts or bottoms - added advantage that they stop midge bites, and you don’t need to try to apply as much sun cream to wriggly kids, as if you need to wander off the beach you’re better dressed for it.
Maybe islamic content, have you thought about modesty swimwear? It's full coverage swimwear that comes in all different lengths, they design it for women whose religion won't let them wear normal suits. I got mine at Calypsa years ago, it sort of looks like this one (this isn't my exact suit but it has the same colors.)

I look like your average internet user (read: pale and fat) and had to stop buying normal suits years ago. Even the fat girl one pieces I bought were getting so squinchy and small I couldn't move around without feeling naked. I hate sounding like an old prude and harping on the "women's clothing sucks" spiel again, but they really just make everything so skimpy it's impossible to live in the clothes they sell.

My conspiracy theory is it's intentional. When women have to put so much effort into finding clothes, affording them, and modifying their behavior to suit the clothing afterwards, it adds to the mental workload and demoralizes the specific woman, and gets all women accustomed to being treated this way (like a boiling frog.)
We should have a thread about parenting group insanity.
I second or third this notion, parenting groups are fucking insane and a thread would go so hard.

It’s not a conspiracy, it’s a fact.

The videos are terrifying.

Pakis and their inbreeding result in a lot of birth defects, but those are different and more unusual. Downs, the reason you are mostly seeing that in third worlders is because first worlders overwhelmingly screen them out and abort them. I think the stat was 90% of white DS babies are aborted in some of the Scandinavian countries.

I'm of the view that humanity simply can't tackle such an issue. It's doing a little, but a lot is performative and window dressing.

People buy roof top solar and home batteries that will need to be replaced before they ever make back the cost. Where I assume there's probably more environmental impact the production and waste. It's like how electric cars are basically a disposable item like an iPhone. Whatever the state of electric or synthetic fuel cars are going to be in 15 years, no one's going to be rocking a sweet 2020 vintage Tesla.

Energy crisis, renewables, cost of energy. If they really cared they wouldn't have blown up Nordstream. Possibly the largest ever recorded methane release. Politics covers that up which shows how much the discourse is political.

In Australia they're having a circle jerk about nuclear power. No one, not even private companies think coal is viable to build new coal plants. Renewables aren't quite up to the job yet. The conservatives are saying they should go nuclear. Despite basically no nuclear industry in the country. Claiming they could have nuclear plants up and running in 10 or so years which is utter non-sense. The cost alone makes no sense. Yet neither side has a viable option. It's all just pretend and theatre. Not actually trying to solve the issue.

In my barely educated opinion, "the inconvenient truth" that nobody is willing to talk about is that the planet isn't capable of sustaining eight billion people. World population growth exploded after the discovery of the Haber process and antibiotics barely a hundred years ago, and nobody was prepared to deal with the consequences.

image_proxy(3).png

The vast majority of modern problems, not the least of which being ecological sustainability, would disappear instantly if there were significantly less people, but nobody wants to even acknowledge that reality let alone advocate for it because we all saw what happened to the Georgia Guidestones.

It's incredible to look back at the past 100-150 years and realize that the vast majority of problems we're facing aren't new to us because our ancestors were too stupid to see them, they're new to us because they didn't fucking exist.

It has always been curious how sustainable low populations are not an option anyone in power supports or suggests. Whatever their concerns about climate change are, the economy and helping the rich are of more concern.

It'd be fascinating to know the impact of massive unsustainable population growth in the third world because of Western developed vaccines and medicine. It's one of those morally unanswerable dilemmas. You shouldn't deprive them of the medicine. Yet the impact is societies and cultures that were not set up or sustainable for the now massive population boom. Which is now creating mass migration across the world and all the issues that is causing.

It almost seems like the Western world was reaching the point of a sustainable population that could be managed, but we then used our technological advancements to create a population boom in the third world which throws everything off.

Everyone knows this, but it's one of the unmentionable realities.
