I think it’s that: no consistency. And how Democrats will change just to be liked. Back when Obama was president some folks put talked about how Obama went from thinking marriage is between a man and a woman to supporting Defense of Marriage Act being repealed when it went to the Supreme Court. Then when Trump was running in 2016, he said something like “I’ve been LGBT since BEFORE I was running for office! My support isn’t just because of a policy or approval ratings.”

So here, the idea is that Kamala is only doing the black thing to get votes, and will most likely ditch it the minute the election is determined.

Plenty of MAGA retards seem to think that she can't be both black and Indian. Her dad was black, her mom was Indian. Just because she doesn't act "like a black person" doesn't mean she isn't half-black.

Here is something I'm wondering if Trump refusing to debate Kamala. It isn't because he is scared, but he knows it has no benefits for him, only risks.

The reality is, Trump isn't going to gain many votes or lose many votes if he debates her. However, the risk comes because it gives Kamala a chance to win over people who are unsure if they are going to vote at all, but people who were never going to vote for Trump.

Kamala doesn't have the issues Biden has, so she has the ability to combat Trump and any lies he tells. Attack her on the boarder, then she can bring up how he killed the bipartisan border bill.

Attack her on prosecution history? This may work on undecided votes, but how will republicans react to the implications that she was too hard on crime?

The only real attack plan I can see for Trump that could work is going after her for covering up the state of Biden, but even that has its risks and could end up being turned onto Trump with one of the gaffs he has of late.

Trump, at least, can spin, not debating her as something else to his core, and can attack her without his base hearing her responses. At least until his team can come up with an attack plan, because it is pretty clear they were taken off guard with the replacement of Biden.

I think a debate would hurt Kamala, if anything. I would tend to agree with you that Trump is ducking because he's already ahead, no sense in blowing his lead. Strategically, he has no need to debate this early. If Kamala winds up eating shit in a debate in September, everyone will have forgotten about it by the election. Its probably in his best interest to wait, rather than peak to soon.

Kamala is notoriously bad at debating, and terrible in hard interviews. Unscripted, she comes off as awkward and unsure of herself. The best take I heard on her is that she would have never been the nom in a typical 18 month primary. She inherited Biden's PR machine extremely late in the game. Time will tell if she manages to run it well. She's probably one of the few candidates the dems could have put up at this point that could still lose to Trump. She performed extremely poorly in her primary, and her track record is spotty at best.

Trump's messaging has just been really weak lately. If he just stuck to policy, I doubt he'd be slipping as much as he is. Trump has benefited by not being the star of the show for the past few years. People have forgetten just how ridiculosuly he handles himself when being pressed.

I think its also worth noting that all this Kamala hype is extremely recent. It might feel like months ago, but its only been 11 days since Biden dropped out. I'm sure there is a lot of dirt on Kamala that has already been dug up, sitting on some intern's desk. Nobody took her seriously as a politician until now. Trump has the benefit of already having all his spaghetti out. Part of me wonders if we are going to get several October surprises this year on her.

As I've said, this really is all just noise until October. Trump is the slight favorite to win, but anything can happen. Most people don't start paying attention until 3 weeks before the election. Probably doubly so this year.

As dumb as birtherism was it still had the goal of proving that the president had broken some sort of law that would disqualify him from the presidency. I don't think being Indian is illegal (maybe it will be if A&N get their way) so I don't really see what the point of this is.

She absolutely embarrassed herself in the 2020 primaries, but I remember her doing well against Mike Pence, so she's not a complete lost cause. But then again, that was Mike Pence, so "less retarded at debate than Mike Pence" isn't the strongest endorsement of Kamala.

The argument is that a woman raised in a Hindu household in Canada cannot identify with the black American experience. I've heard a few newscasters call her African American, and neither Jamacia nor India are in Africa. She went to an HBCU? So did Rachel Dolezal. She's 25%-50% black but 0% nigger.

This is my problem with the whole Kamal race discussion... Its not up to conservative talking heads to decide how people will see her. That is 100% up to the voters. Its just flat out bad optics to have a bunch of white guys trying to make the case that she isn't black.

Its also a laughably weak line of attack. She is plenty vulnerable on policy and competence.
