A new poll has shown that former President Donald Trump is once again way behind Vice President Kamala Harris in terms of support from Black voters in the 2024 election.

An Angus Reid Institute survey of 1,743 registered voters, conducted between July 23 and 25, shows that Harris, the presumptive 2024 Democratic nominee, is 2 points ahead of the former president (44 percent to 42) with just over three months until November's election.

When broken down further, the polls show that more than two-thirds (67 percent) of the 226 Black voters surveyed said they intend on voting for Harris at the 2024 election, compared to 12 percent who said they will be backing Trump.

A total of 17 percent of Black voters said they are still not sure whom they will vote for.

The poll result is another blow to Trump's White House bid in the wake of President Joe Biden ending his reelection campaign on July 21. Prior to Biden ending his campaign, there were concerns that the president was losing support from Black voters who were crucial to him winning the 2020 election, especially in key swing states such as Georgia, which Trump was arguably taking advantage of.

Responding to the poll results, Trump's communications director, Steven Cheung, told Newsweek: "President Trump has actually gained support from 2016 and 2020, so Democrats have actually lost Black support."

Newsweek has contacted the Harris campaign via email.

Trump received 8 percent of support from Black voters in 2020, according to Pew Research. In January, as the country headed into an election year, the former president has between 14 percent and 30 percent of the Black vote share, according to national and swing state polls reviewed by Bloomberg.

A spokesperson for the Angus Reid Institute said Harris has the "overwhelming" support of Black voters in the latest poll.

"There are, however, more non-white voters who say they are currently undecided than among white voters, half (51 percent) of whom say they intend to vote for Trump," the spokesperson added.

Harris also has a 16-point lead over Trump (49 percent to 33) with Hispanic voters, according to the poll.

There have been other polls that suggest Harris has the overwhelming support of Black voters in the 2024 election. Harris is the first woman, Black person or person of South Asian descent to serve as vice president. If she wins in November, she would become the first female president in U.S. history.

A CNN poll of 1,631 registered voters, conducted between July 22-23, found that Harris had the support of 78 percent of Black voters, with Trump 15 percent. A previous poll taken before Biden pulled out the race showed 23 percent of Black voters backing Trump.

Elsewhere, a WDIV/Detroit News poll of 600 likely Michigan voters showed Trump and Harris were tied on 41 percent.

When broken down further to the much smaller sample size, the data showed Trump received the support of no Black voters in the swing state.

Costas Panagopoulos, a political science professor at Northeastern University, previously told Newsweek that the "swift shift in support for Trump to Harris among Black voters tells you something about how fickle Trump's support was among these voters.

"Once they had a viable alternative that also happens to share their racial identity, they jumped ship from Trump almost instantly," Panagopoulos said.

The Angus Reid Institute poll results have a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

I forget what type of bias this is, but it is the bias that happens after a large change (like the candidates swapping out) and different people suddenly want to answer questions from pollsters that did not answer before, but who do not represent an actual change in opinion.

They were always going to vote Biden/Harris, but wouldn't tell you that before.

Trump doesn't need much of the black vote.

Garbage right here.

Context: If the Democrats can't maintain 90% of the black vote, they lose. In every state.

This poll is terrifying for Democrats.

The ones that do are a minority. Most of them don't even realize they're being insulted.
For a lot of them constantly voting for Democrats at best is to make sure their benefits don't get messed with and at worst they vote for Democrats constantly to stop the "white supremacist Republicans" from getting into office. It's also a tradition at this point for African Americans to always vote for the party.

“All polls are designed to shape public opinion rather than reflect it.”

Trump is seen as an honorary G among tha brothas

And they are knocking their knees together and emptying their bladders about their slave caste of voters betraying them because they have no plan C.

This is bad. Like catastrophically bad for the Democrats. Blacks have to vote 90+% for the dems to have a hope of winning.

>blacks want to vote for a prosecutor who jails niggas for weed

Lmao.
258 dumb faggots isn't a poll if you are doing X population wants Y!
You need at least 358 people for a fucking population of 500 and if you want to sample the blacks and you get the 1 in a lifetime perfect conditions you would need to poll 6914 people at minimum

Okay thanks for that update on the viewpoint of the least educated, most criminal portion of the voting base. But hey, we love the uneducated anyway.

Any loss of Black voters for Democrats is a bad thing but don't be surprised if a giant wave of them voting for Republicans doesn't appear.

A lot of black people were actually swayed by the Trump assassination attempt because they saw him as a badass like he was a rapper.
He doesn't give them welfare though, and doesn't support reparations or BLM. That matters far more. They want handouts and the Democrats offer them in endless amounts. Everything BLM did is completely mainstream among blacks, that's what the vast majority of them believe and what they want.

I just figured they didn’t vote at all. I’ve never seen more than about 5 black people, in total, any time I’ve been at the polls
Mail-in ballots, baby. Those vote harvesters go door-to-door to get them.
