Could be an internal legal agreement depending on how their business was set up. Partnerships, LLCs, etc. have legal governance structures that are established when set up, and they can be sued if they breach those rules. When you set up a business with your friends, you don’t really think to plan for the contingency that one of them troons out and becomes a public sexual deviant.

MrBeast's entire schtick is being obscenely wealthy and spending obscene amounts of money on everything. There's no way Kris isn't payed extremely well. A wage scandal would be like Ellen, the "be kind" woman, be exposed as a massive bitch.
It's a matter of priorities. Kris could be living extremely well if comfortable living was a priority of his. Living out his fetish and being a degenerate is more important to him, so that's where the money goes.

This is a good guess, I know Chris is like the oldest friend Jimmy has who is still involved with the channel, he was there from the beginning IIRC and it would not surprise me if he had a huge stake in the brand because of that. I vaguely remember his mother was running his finances early on, so the guy had absolutely no sense of how big this was gonna become when he set it up.
