An important part of the prodigal son story is that the prodigal, when he comes back to his father, asks to be his servant. He doesn't come back and say "Sorry for wasting your wealth, can I have my position back?" Instead he travels back home intending to ask to be like a hired servant.

The whole concept of changing churches is befuddling to me. What is preventing the common protestant to change to a Pastor that is as degenerate as they are?
Protestantism isn't the problem. The majority of America is some variation of Protestantism. Most devout Protestants would kick Nick's ass. Hell, his own church realized somebody needed to intervene (and it was supposedly a pretty liberal church).
