The term doesn't have anything to do with whip cracking it has to do with how lower class white people would announce certain words which there would be a crack.

All of this sort of makes them try to take a more nuanced take on things where there really isn't any. Or they try to find a way to "take the high" road to show off how intellectually superior they are for being able to put aside knee jerk emotions and base instincts and try to play devil's advocate. It puts them in really dumbfuck situations like this. They're retarded.
