The way I read that, she isn't getting any help, she no longer gets along with her family and she is going to blindly follow Nick no matter what it costs her. She is still a full-on addict like Nick and jail didn't cause her to take one step back.

These are all signs that the whole situation is going to get a whole lot worse now.

When addicts have been to jail and are not scared by jail anymore, everything starts going down the drain faster. Kayla loves drugs more than she loves her own children and that isn't going to change.

He’s aping the cadence of a stand-up comic. Part of doing stand-up is finding a rhythm to how you speak in order to create and subsequently release the tension in the room, which is what prompts people to laugh. It’s why people can laugh at comedy that in itself isn’t actually funny.
I forget who (it might have been Norm), but there’s a comic who was talking about a guy on stage at a small-time show being familiar; and it was pointed out that the guy used to be the bouncer at the club. The bouncer’s jokes weren’t great, but he figured out the rhythm of how to say them from watching the other comics at the place where he could get some laughs. Nick is in this exact scenario right now, which is why his cadence seems to have shifted so far.

Signal is fairly serious about privacy, so if the messages have been deleted, they won't be recoverable.

I totally agree - I had a serious fall last year which resulted in a textbook 'fight obtained' black eye. I can't even count the amount of people who asked me "Holy shit! Who punched you?". People need to realize that black eyes are more commonly caused by things other than fights and violence. I think people are so hyped up over this whole situation with Nick that they are prone to jumping to the wildest of conclusions for everything. The man needs to be given the benefit of the doubt for at least some things; lest we be seen as overexaggerating haters jumping to the zaniest of conclusions. People will stop taking us seriously.
