I don't know if it was a mistake, but I think it's not gonna be terribly relevant to the case at large. The case does involve firearms and ammunition to some extent (which is probably why it was logged into evidence), but I refuse to believe any of this is gonna turn on one singular shell casing found lying on the ground.
