It honestly sounds like Nick being just barely down the street was sheer coincidence.

Turns out I was right, sheer coincidence.

That same document does suggest Nick was not shown a valid warrant prior to arriving on scene, by which point the door was already busted down.

My read (and I think common sense suggests) that Nick only saw the search warrant after they drove him back to the house from the traffic stop.

Especially if the cops expected Nick to be at home.

The cop that pulled him over might not have had a copy of the warrant. It might have been at the house.

If I'm traffic stopped down the street and the cop is going "trust me bro, we have a warrant, I just can't show it to you right now, just give me your door code" I'm definitely not giving him my door code. I'm sure we will see exactly how it went down when we get the bodycam footage, but Nick's actions in the report seemed fairly reasonable considering the high-pressure situation. It's the 6+ months of cocaine addiction and child neglect that are the problem.

I don't know why people are stating it as a fact that they kicked the door in before Nick got to the house.
It doesn't say that on the report.
From the report we don't know when Nick was shown the warrant, if the door was through by then or not.

We were correct, Nick was not shown the warrant prior to his arrival on scene several minutes after the door was rammed. It does also sound as though he was fully compliant with physical instructions during this "warrantless" timeframe.

So, even though we all know Nick fucked around and found out, how the police executed the warrant may possibly have a significant impact on the state's prosecution of Nick. The minor child not allowing police in can very easily be hand-waved away as them (the kid) being responsible in the face of stranger danger. The police ramming their way into a property they haven't yet properly served with a warrant? Not so much.

Local laws and precedent apply, etc, but I'm confident this defeats any execution concern I previously had. It does not sound overly hasty. The only possible remaining attack vector I can see is that Nick's person was noted to be part of the same search warrant as the property and he was not present to see the warrant when property entry began. I'm pretty sure this is trivial but IANAL so you never know.
