Ironically my first car I went with in GTA online back in 2012-2013 was the Tesla EV knockoff. I just liked the quiet sound of the electric engine in the game.

Then my next car added to my garage was the Bison (Dodge Ram) mmmmbig Truck.

I think everyone can see what it’s missing compared to a Cybertruck, but sometimes you don’t need all the things on the bigger one. But all the safety laws and shit make you unable to make that choice for yourself; the golf cart is not street legal in most places even though you can buy an ancient enough car that is basically the same and even less safe.

Despite these people being pathological liars, the situation in Houston over the last past few days has been extremely rough, with something like 800,000 people without electricity and, thus it makes sense that services are interrupted. (As of this morning there were still like 300k houses and businesses out of juice.)

I like the idea the retard's idea thinks he should sue the city over a bus ticket. At minimum, filing in a small claims court case is around $100, worth it if some contractor screwed you over for $5,000 but not worth a $5 bus ticket.

If their electric cars are anything like their R/C components, that 1287 hp is based on the theoretical maximum amount of power the system could take right before exploding, not the actual power output.

Maybe it can't actually sustain its peak output past the first minute or so? When the Porsche Taycan first came out, one of its selling points was being able to actually deliver the advertised horsepower all day every day while the contemporary Tesla rival would start dialing back its output after a couple of hard launches and a lap around the fabled Burgerking would thoroughly cook it.

Horsepower doesn't always translate to speed. What's the torque on this thing? Pulling power, as in, the ability to pull it's own weight? If the torque is shit, you could have a trillion Horsepower, it's not going to keep up and be as reactive as a ICE car with a modern 6 cylinder that's pulling as much as a old 8 cylinder.

If you've got a shed load of horsepower you can gear it into torque- See an old F1 with 1000hp @ 19,000rpm
So on a clean sheet design like this you can add a 1 speed gearbox to turn your motor rpm into a useable road speed.

What you can't do is turn a low HP high torque engine into a low torque high hp engine. No matter how long a gear you put behind a Olds 350 diesel you can't get more than the 120[on a good day] hp out of it.

I'll go with the other poster and just assume the Chinese are lying about the power output.

They don't realize that car prestige is just as much a part of Chinese culture as it is in the west. Just walk around any major university campus and see a barrage of BMW X5s and Mercedes GLSs in the parking lot driven by Chinese international students. Yes they have micro cars in China but those cheap ones are usually associated with poor people, just like the Nissan Versa in America.

Yeah, the Chinese auto industry is so in touch with the needs of the modern urbanist. Just look no further than the Rolls Royce Cullinan-er I mean Hongqi LS7.



Do you really need a 4080Ti to play video games? No, just turn down the settings. Do you want one? Yes.

Remember, however much you subsidize cities, it's never enough. They'll insist that the cities subsidize the suburbs (which is objectively wrong) and will invent new reasons to punish you when those run out ("externalities").
