Yeah this is exactly why I brought this up, he does it more than the required amount for posturing for internet good-boy points. In a recent vid he randomly shat on J.K. Rowling for no reason, completely unrelated to the rest of the video.
As a sidenote, I'd be fine with taking Japan's infrastructure and transit if it also meant getting the culture of video-taping random people like this being seen as creepy and immoral.

these positions are very often held by the same people despite being kinda hypercritical takes, since actual mass shootings are way rarer than random subway crime
in general anti-car people use alot of the very same rhetoric that anti-gun people do. "no one needs it" "civilians shouldn't own assault weapons/big trucks" "you just like them cause you have a small penis" etc.

It's why I can't take them seriously. So what if the crime rate is low? No one is mugging me while I'm driving my car, even if they did, i have my revolver for that. I'd rather not take that risk, period.

I wonder what Jason's/urbanists' take on this is:
It's expanding the A9 highway in Amsterdam from three lanes in each direction to four, citing congestion. It's not complete yet but they did whatever xDOT in America does, ROW first, then create a temporary highway on one side.
