Many reasons why it failed. One reason is you can't own and deny the meme at the same time. Ralph can own a pig meme and in a rare moment of clarity he'll admit he is gross. Kraut can own split dick because it's true and there is no denying it. Lucas can say "suck my inverted penis" because his penis is inverted and he won't try to deny it.
Nick wants to own it but deny it. It never worked that way.

That can work sometimes. The problem is Nick is such a retard that he does it wrong. He acts more degenerate now than ever, but still tries to keep up this lie that he's an internet lawyer. That's part of what makes him such a cow.
I'm not saying it would work for him, but I'm saying that he thinks owning the meme means just do it more. He wants his cake and to eat it too.
