Sweet Baby Inc. and the Steam Curator Group Conspiracy - The company that is responsible for the diarrheic video game writing.

if the requirement is to not buy games, this will never get normie support. Gaming boycotts on both sides of the aisle (or even for entirely apolitical reasons, like Left 4 Dead 2 when valve wasn't giving them dedicated servers) have literally never worked. How can we make it happen anyway?
Unfortunately, this. 'member when Bayonetta's previous actress called for a boycott of Bayonetta 3 due to her being a whiny bitch about her contract, and it still sold over a million units

I was at the GDC the year the founder of sweet baby inc gave a talk on diversity as innovation.

This was also the year Christchurch happened, concurring with the GDC, and the keynote speaker at the main panel said the world's condemnation of the shooting was evidence that GamerGate had been defeated.

The audience cheered.

That was when I decided I'd never work in the videogame industry.

I'm increasingly convinced this was a wise decision.

what even is the victory condition for this shit?
i don't really see how anything would come of this. even if they get a few studios to denounce and cut ties with SBI (which would be a god damn miracle) and SBI disbands as a result, the people in SBI aren't going anywhere and neither are their industry connections. they will go to different positions and continue doing the exact same work.
and that's not even touching on the fact that SBI isn't even super special or outstanding, there's hordes of DEI/ESG consultants all across the corporate sector, including in video games. even if this somehow results in the death of SBI, there's a near infinite supply of others just waiting in line to take its place.

Easy. Recommended different games.

It's not about boycotting gaming in general, it's about showing a contrast.
Come on, all of us autists have experience in a craft we like that sjws have barged their way into.

Show the better stories. Teach the better systems. Reserve your disdain for those who have corrupted the industry and teach the new ones the good stuff.
We are in a time shift where it's more important to be a curator than a creator or journo. That involves being direct and honest on your opinion.

If you show that you're a reasonable adult then the people screeching just lose anyways. You have knowledge and experience, it would be to our benefit if we use it.

Also don't fucking hate watch retards, that's how they all got famous anyways. Don't give them oxygen.

Ah, the usual cycle of "Journalist writes article>Wikipedia cites article>People cite Wikipedia>Journalist now has created 'Truth'"
shouldn't the wikipedia page be getting massive amounts of flack, considering it's literally listing the exact same games that the steam group listed? or is it okay because wikipedo is a trusted lefty source and that means everything they say could never be used for harm.

i guess i already know, huh.

rules for radicals is a powerful set of tactics. don't underestimate its ability. alinsky was fighting a social war and he set out some pretty solid tenants if you intend to engage in it yourself, just my take on it.

I see A&N was shafted for the feature again. We have been talking about this shit all week.

Let me just say fuck SBI, fuck AAA (especially those Ubisoft baguette niggers), fuck the games press propagandists (especially all of them, right down to whoever cleans the toilets). Jim was right.

Now here's something. Valve in particular stood out to me, so I looked up "__________ leaves Valve" and poked around the Overwiki and check this shit out:

Here are a bunch of now-ex Valve people and when they left
  • 2016
    • Marc Laidlaw, writer
    • Andrea Wicklund, artist
    • Doug Wood, modeler and animator
  • 2017
    • Chet Faliszek, writer
    • Erik Wolpaw, writer, came back as contractor for Half-Life: Alyx
    • Jay Pinkerton, also came back for HL:A
    • Josh Weier, writer
    • John Guthrie, level designer
- 2018 - SBI founded -
  • 2019 - Richard Garfield, designer for Magic: The Gathering, then Artifact
  • 2019 - Matt Wood, dev, CS:GO
  • 2022- Doug Lombardi, VP marketing
  • 2023 - Mike Ambinder, experimental psychologist

What the hell happened in 2016-2017?

Those are all original Valve artists/writers who worked on Half-Life and Half-Life 2.

Marc Laidlaw was the main writer for Half-Life and the expansions, as well as Half-Life 2 and the Episodes. I'm pretty sure he did some work on Portal and Portal 2, too.

We're really not getting Half-Life 3, and if we do, it won't be Half-Life.

The closest we'll ever have is Epistle 3, and maybe some kind of fan interpretation of that down the line in game-form. But after shit like Hunt Down the Freeman, and given the state of the HL community and its infestation, I'm not even sure I'd want that.

The video I was gonna upload originally tonight is gone. I've scrapped it; it's deleted...
