If anyone minds, I wanted to take a moment to sing the praises of coffeee.beach/bea, as I believe that she succeeds at everything that the artists on display here fail at. Id love to hear what other people think of this, whether or not this is in fact "representation done right"
Her art and characters are diverse, yes, but they aren't glamorized at all. I see a lot of people in this thread complaining about SJW art looking ugly, and I disagree that ugliness is the issue, because almost all the people in bea's art are not conventionally attractive, but there's no attempt to compensate for that. Her art shows a deep appreciation for the human condition that ive never seen in transgender art.

From a lens of pure skill, its meh. Flat shading, inconsistent anatomy, unintentional asymmetry. But I'm looking at it for substance. This character is what some might consider an offensive and demeaning stereotype of autism: fat, acne riddled, unkempt hair, childish fashion choice and demeanor. But there's no insult here, all of these attributes are embraced, no effort is made to compensate for anything that might be considered unsavory or play it off as "beautiful" anyways. Its gritty, its grimy, its human. Also, I implore you to read her character description at that link, it is long and insightful and I adore the love put into this individual.

yes, they're showing what would usually be considered the grotesque details of the human body, and of the trans body, but they covered it in glitz and glam.
Look, our scars are not repulsive, they look like stars! Look how aesthetic the experimental drugs we take are! My fat does not look repulsive, right? We are celestial, we are special, and this is how we show it, and this is how you shall know it.
Their appreciation for the human form does not come naturally, they cannot accept their bodies as is, they cannot allow their forms to be repulsive. They need to make it beautiful or else people might not accept them! All bodies are beautiful, I tell ya! I mean, of course they can't accept themselves as is, thats why they got plastic surgery.
Bea understands that "beauty" is not a prerequisite for something to be appreciated and loved. Her characters are not made special by the labels they wear or the groups they're a part of, her characters are special because they are human beings with vivid lives and values. Thats because acceptance of people and of one's self does not come from taking pride in our labels and conditions, it comes from recognizing that there's a flawed and intricate human being behind those labels.

Fucking brilliant. Both of these characters are fleshed out and sympathetic, both of them recognized for what made them who they are and where their flaws are. There is nothing special about these people, but there is everything interesting about them.
she also has a trans character named lily which you can go see for yourself and judge accordingly. Equally fleshed out as the rest, though there's a clear bias in her views towards the left ("they save her from being caught up in a brawl between Antifa and right wing rioters"). But I can look past that for now, she doesn't obsess over the details of trans stuff and I can respect that.
Anyways I like her art and think its cool.

I wouldn't classify these drawings as SJW art, even if it is morbidly ugly. There are plenty examples ITT of aesthetically pleasing art that shoves LGTV bullshit in your face, so simply ugly art does not a SJW art post make. Hell, purposely ugly was practically the calling card for Klasky-Csupo back in the day, and those cartoons are well beloved by most people.

Then when I clicked on that rando artist's profile they claimed they were banging their own father and had a whole comic series about it. For the life of me I can't remember that person's username, and I just want to know wtf is going on with that trash fire.
I remember the artist claimed it was 100% real but there were many doubting her.
I remember her art was a bit 'sjw'-y and the 'dad' character looked like yaoi character. Very Tumblr-y

Thank you! Had no idea there was a proship thread-- and through that thread I found out my awful personal cow is still alive (after her 1000th suicide bait, wow amazing can't believe it) and recording herself playing with pigeons. For some reason she looks really healthy for being 'deadly ill'. Never even seen her in video form. Neat.
Laika Albarn is still providing nausea, but I still think it's all fake.
