I swear to God, the whole "guided tour" rationalization for 1/6 is the right's "mostly peaceful protests." If it's so important to them, why weren't THEY there then?

The local cops were overwhelmed at many points and couldn't offer meaningful resistance. Cops that pushed back were in some cases beaten. Maybe some cops inside the capitol assumed that they were allowed to be there since they had made it past the barricades, or maybe they were also intimidated.Because legally that makes it entrapment. The whole narrative of 'nooo stop them from reaching the invalidate-the-election button' kindof starts to break down when the police were proactively encouraging people to enter and then letting them in.
But will that ever happen in the west? I've seen no signs governments want to do this, just lots and lots of tiny, seemingly insignificant, changes. Doing that over some generations and eventually you will have children born with their sprits already broken. Just keep the burgers and the entertainment flowing and it will never reach that point. Anyone smart enough to see this will be easily disregarded as just a few loons.True revolutionaries don't act like this, because it's a matter of life and death. If you fail, the regime will likely kill you. After torturing you. And your family. There is no going back after you make a decisive step. It's all in, whatever happens, happens.

It's hardly a conspiracy theory to point out that Trump and his boss Jared wanted it to happen. They should both be sentenced to jail for the sum of their idiotic boomercon puppets sentences, or be given the justice that Ashley Babbitt was.My personal opinion about J6 is that it was a pretty spontaneous boomercon explosion of rage and impotence, and that it is somewhat likely that they were allowed to fool around a bit. I'm not really buying into any of the conspiracy theories about it.
I have my doubts. About both men. Jared is a minority and would never desire a real boomercon revolution, cause his ass would end up near Pence's. Trump is a literal retard and in his dumb head he probably thought that once his mob is near the Capitol, the voting politicians/the dems would come out to make peace and recognize him as the valiant orange totally legitimately elected 4lifenigga El Presidente, and all would be awesome and cool and he'll go on TV to explain how everyone likes him. It's hardly a conspiracy theory to point out that Trump and his boss Jared wanted it to happen. I mean, it doesn't neccessarily have to be an actual revolution for them to be behind it. Getting a bunch of Trump's supporters arrested and harping on it for years rather than... just pardoning them is classic Trump.I have my doubts. About both men. As for sentencing them, I mean, sure absolutely go ahead, I'm a sucker for drama, and I most definitely want to see the US providing more drama.
Wait...how could he have pardoned them...am I missing something?I mean, it doesn't neccessarily have to be an actual revolution for them to be behind it. Getting a bunch of Trump's supporters arrested and harping on it for years rather than... just pardoning them is classic Trump.
Pre-emptive pardons are a thing. C.f. Nixon, who was never charged with any crimes.Wait...how could he have pardoned them...am I missing something?
Indeed this is true - Trump could have, and should have, preemptively pardoned every J6 protester. HOWEVER, he only had a chaotic two weeks to decide, before anyone was even charged.Pre-emptive pardons are a thing. C.f. Nixon, who was never charged with any crimes.
Because the overwhelming majority of the people there weren't there to commit "insurrection" but just to protest?I consider these people incredibly low IQ. They didn't know what they wanted. If I were in that movement, it would've been obvious that you had to overwhelm the Capitol guards and take the politicians hostage, take over the whole building. Why else would you even start this shit up?
Yeah but quite a few also basically came close to crossing the Rubicon and forced their way in a government building and came like 50m from your politicians. They fucked around in private offices of the elected elites and messed with their electronics. They smashed into the desperate police trying to keep them away and bonked them with flags and other shit.Because the overwhelming majority of the people there weren't there to commit "insurrection" but just to protest?
Because the people doing that were morons? Even the vast majority of that stuff was at worst mischief. Yet we're told that someone who was just standing there chanting "stop the steal" or whatever is a rioter.I'll never understand this stuff. Why go in if not prepared to risk it all?
because they're on my side of the political aisle and therefore they can do no wrongEven if people were fooled to storm the capital by antifa like some conspiracy theories say, how does that absolve anyone dumb enough to follow?
Problem is, whether you broke the law because of malicious intent, or because of being a dumbass, you still broke the law. And think of how it looks to the rest of the world, if this country were to allow something like Jan 6 with nothing more than a slap on the wrist for the participants? Like, the US can't even stand up to it's own people, why are we scared of them again?I still stand by the Jan 6thers did want to change the outcome of the election but most of them didn't plan to storm the capital but kind of just got caught up with it and when they got into the building they had no idea what to do next, so mostly fucked around. That doesn't excuse what they did or mean they shouldn't face consequences, but they weren't the threat some people make them out to be.
