I haven’t bothered checking to see if he’s still selling the shirt since they lost the case, but at the time the opinion everyone had was it was a slam-dunk easy case.

Seriously, the only thing it definitely was was fact-based enough to overcome an anti-SLAPP motion. Proving a defamation case to an actual malice standard, which was always a likely path it would take, is always an uphill climb.

It faced a series of hurdles. The first was Texas's TCPA. Next, there was possibly a motion to dismiss on other grounds. Third, after discovery there would be an opportunity for a motion for summary judgment. Finally, there might be a trial, and there, the best outcome would be not having to prove it to an actual malice standard. Only at that point would it look like a potentially easy win. More likely, though, it would be a trial requiring proving to an actual malice standard.

That's never easy.

As stated just up thread, CGoody was in Balldo’s chat last night. It was CGoody & some guy with CM initials, something similar to CurtisMontgomery, or some other last name starting with an M, who were going back and forth with skipmoney89. They were playing defense in a ridiculous way, almost like they were in on it with Nick, trying to brush the MANdy business aside.

Skipmoney89 seemed to be focused on CGoody, knew weird personal stuff about him, a Xino person, and CGoody just kept coming back with lame attacks on skipmoney. Calling him a basement dweller, while the other CM initials guy was saying dumb, low tier bait things about KF anytime anyone in chat made fun of Nick’s alleged sobriety or MANdy. I only stuck around for the first hour, but the game was clear, they tried to obfuscate all the chat on MANdy & the fact that Nick was burning through soda cans.

Nick started with a black & yellow “soda” can that looked like a monster energy drink maybe, then switched to a goddamn Dr. Pepper (& a large cinnamon roll) before the first hour was up. He also turned his camera off, & it was speculated that he took shots when the camera was off. CGoody, CM, & Nick, all continue to refer to MANdy as a woman.

Reminds me of the catfishing of various RoosterTeeth employees in 2020. First thing that catfish did was post their z-tier celebrity nudes on some relatively unknown, gay & troon, forum, & then the nudes eventually leaked to 4chan & here. I'll choose not to take your comment too personally, but I was already working on that before Joe had his oopsie. YouTube presents this information publicly.

TLDR: Buffalo Dan sent just under $4,800 in YouTube super chats alone to Rekieta under the name "Mandy Karevicius".
That may be an underestimate of total paypiggery since it doesn't include Locals subscriptions or super chats, Twitch subs, whatever, as well as any YT streams Nick may have deleted or privated since. Dan was probably over $5k into this.

The first super chat was in September 2020 (see this post by @Peace Through Power) and the most recent one I found was a few months ago. The most interesting thing when looking at Buffalo Dan's super chat history to Rekieta is how the amount of money he gave ramped up and then fell off hard. He started ramping up his donos around July 2021.

The peak month was February 2022, when he gave over $750. After that, he tapered off. Around $300 in April 2022, around $200 each in May, June, July.
July 2022 was the last month in which he sent over $100 in super chats to Nick, every month after that is below $100.

What's interesting is looking at the timeline, we have a YouTube live chat from May 2022 where "Mandy" announces "she" has added Nick on Discord. Around then or just after was the saga where Nick tried to convince "Mandy" to come to Anime Matsuri. If the purpose of the paypiggery was to get a direct line to Nick Rekieta, he may have stopped donating when he got what he paid for.

I might look into this angle in more detail a later time.

It looks like he knocked on a neighbor’s door in his apartment complex and asked her to please please just hold this sign up for me. She stood at the open door, held his stupid sign, then shut the door hoping the weird neighbor wouldn’t bother her again.

When I glanced at the pic it looked like cheap storm door grating on the left, and you can just see a tiny peak into her apartment. So she opened her door and quickly held up the sign.

The sign looks like what a not too bright man thinks a cute girl’s handwriting would look like, based on his vague memories from high school.

It’s folded because he carefully crafted it at home, folded it and kept it handy waiting until he could see the woman was home to ask,
