Lmfao I'm pretty sure this retard compared something within FNAF to an actual fucking school shooting , ngl I'm not sure if this actually happened as I got this from a youtube comment but even Scott Catthwon (pbuh) took a jab at him in the comment section telling him he was fucked up in the head for comparing his game to an actual event.

You're thinking about his first video on the game where he theorized it was based on a real life Chuckie Cheese shooting, Man, nine years ago, time flies. Anyway I don't hate this, its an attempt to engage with the game on a non-literal level which he used to do a lot more often. Scott did say it was bunk, but he wasn't mean about it, just that the game wasn't based on any real-life events. You might be confusing this for his Petscop video where he, or more realistically someone on his team, compared the game to the real-life tragedy of Candance Newmaker. The creator went off on him on Twitter and was angry and horrified that Matpat was comparing the game to anything irl.

I'm pretty sure every petscop vid mentions Candace though? I think Pyro was the first and he had a whole section in his video about it, but not sure if MatPat maybe was first. One stole from the other I assume.

I assume most of Matpat's writing staff just steals ideas from Reddit and fan forums, wouldn't be surprised if everyone is drawing from the same source. Either way I know literally nothing about Petscop, it just remember the creator being quite upset on Twitter about the theory and to my knowledge Matpat hasn't brought it up again in any of his following videos out of respect for the video maker.
 
The Petscop thing was an unfortunate instance of "not enough has come out to make sense of", unfortunate naming, and seeing a pattern that wasn't really there. Later entries in Petscop doesn't go anywhere near what MatPat theorized.

Yeah, I remember this, it was definitely there and definitely intentional. The creator regrets it now, but he's admitted that he used it as a hint that there'd be themes about child abuse and rebirth or whatever, and then later he realized how it looked to use a child's death to promote his Playstation creepypasta series so he never mentioned it again.
 
I mean there was a time when mats videos actually slapped. His early theory ones typically had some theme of taking a at least mildly educational topic and interjecting into a game. Like it's retarded to say wario is 10 ft tall, but my guess is that was an easy and clear number for the math he was putting in the video and how tall wario is really wasn't important towards what made the video quality.

Now his shits all retarded stuff you'd find in some woman's magazine or retarded lore stuff. Even the not game stuff.

Like last thing I saw of his that randomly auto played was a dumb thing about Costco. Basic trend was long-winded whining that a store is made so you will spend money there (what a SHOCKING revelation) that sounds like some shit some dudes stupid wife would "explain" to them about how it's not there fault they spend 2 hours buying a bunch of random shit lacking impulse control.

He focuses on some dumb things that it's like you only have 35 mins of time before you overspend on groceries. Now, this makes my common sense tingle. Isn't it just more sensible or likely that people shit with money budgeting not only take longer but spend more time buying things? It's not how the brain works, just someone with clear focus and desired goals is gonna go in, get what they want and leave faster than the person making those decisions once they get into the store? Like human beings can make sensible decisions more than 35 mins a day and walking into a store doesn't zap you of your free will. Those things are just signs a person is lacking in maturity and practicality.
 
What i don't like abt matpat rn(as a fan of him still to this day), is that he focuses WAY TOO FUCKING MUCH on youtube rn, i sware every second game theory video now is him whining about the "youtube metagame".
And now even style theory is infected, im wondering when does FOOD THEORY finally succumb to the youtube is shit topiced video virus.

I had to stop watching once he started going off on some grandpa analogy, it was getting too banal for me at that point. Want to see a proper, formal, no bullshit "on his own terms" exit? Watch Paul Harrell (Guntuber thread link). He's expecting himself to soon pass away from cancer and presents this announcement like any other of his presentations, concise and straight to the point. Introduces his replacement host in the same video. 50 seconds flat compared to 25 minutes. It's a shame he'll be gone from this world.

Yeah, whatever opinion one might have on Matpat, you can't deny that he has infinitely more charisma than anyone of the other people who work on the show, they are the most generic, bland and boring definition of a nerdy hipster you ever seen. Regardless, it's always good to retire after a certain time, most of youtubers from the olden days that are still around have either completely lost all the magic and morphed into something more boring (like Moistcritikal), completely gone off the deep end (like Boogie) or just became unrecognizable and a complete shell of who they once were (like Idubzz). There is a point where you have to end things on a high note instead of going past your prime
