[Book Thief]

Phil is bitter and angry all the time, because he knows most people see him as a loser. A recurring theme of his 2023 podcast is Phil saying that he watches other "big" streamers who are worse gamers than him, yet get no where near the same amount of criticism. In Phil's mind, he doesn't need to change, it's the trolls who are the problem. He's miserable for this reason. He doesn't know what to do in order to make people view him the way he views himself.

You know, you reminded me of his Left 4 Dead playthrough that I watched awhile back.

While he does suck ass at the game, to be totally fair to Phil, so did everyone else back then. No one was pulling 30-minute deathless No Mercy Realism Expert runs or anything like that at the game's launch. However, the thing that makes this playthrough interesting to me is that Phil is not his usual toxic self. Even when he plays Versus he's like "Dang, they got us." It honestly feels like peering into an alternate reality where Phil still sucks ass at games, but is a fair sport about his short-comings. If the real Phil was like this throughout his career, I don't think he'd have anywhere near as much hate as he does.

Didn't Phil also complain that his Switch controller isn't working properly and he needs anew one? Or am I mistaken? I expect a lot of complaints today

Super Mario Wonder is another very short game unless you replay it a bunch, also. Expect Phil to really get on his soapbox about how games are ripoffs today, and he really needs that positive support for lost stream income.

He said the D pad is shit on the joycons and on his current Hori controller so something. I wanna note I have the same controllers Phil has and they are fine, hes just being a bitch as usual.

If you wanna know how the Hori pad feels, if you've ever played the Megadrive/Genesis, the D pad feels like that.

But anyway he was bitching because hes gonna be bad at a children's game, pre loaded excuses in the chamber.

During the "whining about more successful streamers" segment Dave talks about watching an archived twitch stream from 2016 and shits on the streamer for their video quality. Phil did nothing wrong because his video quality is better than a random twitch live stream from 7 years ago.
