- Nick said he grew up without money and lived in a bad area, but his parents dropped almost 2k on Electronica for VHS when it came out.
This is yet another self inflicted problem he's created for himself. TLDR: NICK IS NOT GENUINE.Nick grew up in Lakeville MN. It was an ultra-safe suburban community with lots of new construction at the time. It was in no sense a "bad area". Nick's problem wasn't how he was raised.
I suppose from Nick's point of view, living a normal suburban middle-class lifestyle and having parents who work for a living is "growing up without money".
Nick has appealed to an audience that yells FREE SPEECH at everything, down to stealing a fucking parking space. Aside from everyone here on the thread who has figured him out, most of his audience are a bunch of Bud Light drinking degenerates who happened to stumble across a "guy you could have a beer with" kind of lawyer. Problem is, he's not a practicing lawyer, in fact, didn't even practice that long on account of being too dumb, too lazy, or both.
In an effort to appeal to his audience, Nick has acted like he's "one of them." The "I'm just like you" approach only works if you're actually "just like you." He's not. Nick grew up in an upper-middle class household, most likely didn't have to want for very much (expect the occasional toy mom said no to in order to teach responsibility) like every other middle-class kid.
GUESS WHAT?!?! There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with that. The 80's were a time Wall Street and Oil Companies made a killing, and his family was somewhat part of that. No problem. But acting like you grew up in gangland Chicago when you grew up in Lakeville "Land of the White People" Minnesota is disingenuous. Parents who worked hard that gave their kid a good life isn't a bad thing. It's only bad when you act like that's not what you had... when you did.
It's also lying................. something he's been doing a lot of to save face with just about every bad decision he makes, and boy are there a lot of them. Which leads me to my next quote response...............
SPOKEN LIKE EVERY FUCKING EAST COAST WASPY MOTHER FUCKIN' CHAD!!!!!- Nick thinks university grading will and should go away because if you pay a lot of money, you should get a better grade. He recounted a story of a professor that graded on a curve and that made people who put in the same effort got lower relative grades. It should be guaranteed of you pay enough money.
Sounds like a rich kid problem.
ANYONE that's come in contact with these Harvard elitist mother fucker types knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about (I live in the northeast and encounter these chads daily.)
If you pay enough money......... you should get good grades?! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!?!?!
Unless @Himedall completely got it wrong (highly doubt it.) Would you want a doctor who paid a lot to go to Harvard Medical School but gave a fuck about studying operating on you? Yeah........ me neither! I have a personal story that I've put in a spoiler for those who care to read it.
Forgive me but this triggered me so fucking much. I worked with a guy who had the same quality of life as Nick: Grew up middle-upper class, went to Harvard Law, dad was a lawyer (and if you didn't know, he definitely told you) but frankly, he was a fucking lazy asshole who got everything handed to him. When he got in trouble, he was very charismatic and charming and got out of everything. He was like this at the firm I worked with him at, where he was all things while trying to fuck every secretary and paralegal between bathroom coke breaks (No I did NOT work with Hunter Biden, lol.)
We got a new boss at our firm when I was about 6 months in. For context, he was half white/half black, but was conservative, against affirmative action, very Clarence Thomas-like, grew up poor, and worked while going to Yale Law School (which makes this story even better).
Some promotions opened up with people moving back closer to family during COVID, and this asshole thought he easily was going to get one of the 4 spots. 5 people applied (3 in house), he did not get it. It went to 4 people who all went to mid-tier "lower law schools," but they all worked their asses of harder than this asshole ever did. Came to find out, they all grew up lower-middle class and had to work for what they wanted, including a law degree.
The day the asshole was told he didn't get the promotion, he flipped the fuck out, and beat the shit out of one of the copiers in our kitchenette. Instead of firing him on the spot, the new boss told him in order to keep his job, he would have to go to anger management, and if he passed, they would revisit the promotion. Fucker said no and "quit," clearly because he didn't want to put in the work to be a productive member of society. Dude went to go work for his dad where we hear that his own father is so fucking sick of him.

My point............ guys like him (from my personal story) remind me EXACTLY of Nick, and he basically just proved my fucking point with "If you pay for it, you should get the grade." NO NICK...... THAT'S NOT HOW LIFE WORKS. Spoken like the lazy ass rich kid who had everything handed to him......... then when the poor black guy, the poor Mexican, even the poor white kid passes him up because they aren't lazy like the rich white kid, they cry how unfair life is.
But please Nick.......... tell me more how poor you were..........
DISCLAIMER: Not everyone is like that at Harvard, but they are hard to find lol
EDIT:
No.... only for assholes who think they deserve it, or people who haven't worked hard and were just given a shit ton of money for just sitting there ** cough cough ** Rittenhouse/Depp Trial ** cough cough ** I saw this because after all of this, I am always going to compare him to Emily D. Baker who started out the same as him.......... except it was only ONE trial (Depp) that brought her major coin.New money does weird things to the brain.
I know many a people who would be considered "new money" and what do they do? Invest it, save it, put it in their kids college funds, fix up their house. SMART PEOPLE THINGS. They didn't go out and buy a mustang............. they didn't go to Vegas for closet swinger parties (there's no convincing me they didn't with Coomelot), and they certainly didn't get fucking sued for being a dipshit and calling someone a pedophile not once, not twice, but multiple times on the internet to an audience of 400k+. Most middle-class rich people at one point or another read "The Millionaire Next Door." If you haven't.... do yourself a favor and read it. The complete antithesis of Nick.
Nick grew up middle-upper class, and that's exactly what he is now. He just sees all these other successful people on YT and believes he deserves that same amount of money and more............................ except Nick, those people WORK, and they work because they hire people to help them, unlike you who "can't be controlled or boxed in".............
