I'm willing to stick my neck out here and say he's just a gobshite. He's basically a cross between Mizzy and an Andrew Tate wannabe (based off his TikToks where he wants to "teach men how to be men" despite being 21 years old), knocking over flowerpots to own the libs and mouthbreathing at a woman with his entire argument for his behaviour being "It's disgusting" with no expansion on that point. You look him up on twitter and the whole thing's like "loooool dis sum funnyman ting ".
The planters were a local gardening competition organised between local primary schools (4-11 year olds) being displayed for a week in Bromley Town Centre for their end of year (British schools finish for the year next month, so they displayed them for a week - the planters are supposed to go back to each school this Friday). It's so local residents of Bromley (an outskirt of London) can vote on which school they think did the best.
While some of them did display overt rainbow themes (because it's June Pride Month and kids are sponges, but also there's probably a few kids dotted about that have two mummies or whatever), the theme was "represent your school values" and obviously most schools for small children are going to espouse values of "love each other!" "accept one another!" and especially in a highly diverse London suburb, "people are different from each other, and that's ok!", along with other themes like "we work hard on our schoolwork!" and "working together is fun!".

I'm not even understanding Ari's point. Iirc, Reimer was a male raised as though he was female (without his knowledge), and it didn't go well. That reinforces more than challenges the idea that presentation or "nurture" don't change a person's inborn traits. He was castrated and constructed (mentally, physically, etc.) to live as a girl , but none of that changed his actual sex, which in his case also aligned to his self-conception. It was artificially imposed "dysphoria": the experiment created a gap where there wasn't/shouldn't have been one.

But really, the biggest damage to Reimer was the lie - his agency to grow up naturally, according to his genetic sex and self-perception, and to decide himself how he felt about his maimed body. That was taken from him and what killed him.

So his situation doesn't really say much about trans anything except that superficial things don't change actual chromosomal sex, regardless of whether your parts are "modified.".

What am I missing?
