You can opt-out of those, for now™. They're also going to work in some kind of revenue split scheme, but naturally not every account will be eligible for it.
Oh, it'll be so amusing to watch the average Tumblrite try to adapt to Pixiv. Sure, any idiot can more or less Google Translate bits and pieces of Japanese here and there, but they won't have their little perfect echo chambers anymore.
A handful of the somewhat competent artists will end up there, and the rest will probably end up in third-rate furry SJW-friendly sites like Weasyl or Furry Network. It doesn't even matter they don't draw one bit of furry art! Perhaps even InkBunny, but it's mostly relegated to pedoshit, and that one does forbid human depictions.
The average "consumer" will probably have nowhere else to go to curate save, I dunno, Blogger is still a thing somehow. Setting up your own Wordpress blog is probably beyond them.

As an alternative there's Pillowfort.io, which is probably going to end up like a mega-ultra-SJW Tumblr with a strict "anti-harassment" policy, especially with its user-moderated "communities" but who knows if it'll ever even be finished.

There was a Tumblr alternative called Inkstamp that was in the works ages ago as well, but it got stuck in development hell and was eventually cancelled after the only decent web developer they had jumped ship leaving a team of talentless SJWs behind to finish the site.
I have a feeling that some tumblr users could go to soup.io, which has a similar structure to Tumblr.

I doubt they'll go to Pixiv, it's mostly Japanese and there's a bunch of ruanchy weird porn on there. I'm not so sure the mods on there will be welcoming of people reporting others for 'triggering' them since I'm guessing a lot of them barely read English.
SJW's are everywhere to begin with, I'm hoping Pillowfort or Twitter can contain them all if Tumblr goes kapoot.

lol tumblr has survived this long without the mods caring at all.
shit will hit the fan if they actually start taking down people like the pedos and bestiality stuff, and tweaker nation, not to mention all of the SJWs that will suddenly be getting banned for violating harassment rules and what not (which tumblr does actually have, last time i checked) and they'll flip out about them "shutting out oppressed voices" or some shit.

It would be a waste, but can you imagine the glorious couple of weeks between the announcement and the shutdown? "Tumblr is not profitable, therefore we are closing it down. No, we're not going to offer you a service to backup/download your posts, as that would require us spending money on you." There'd be enough salt to fill an ocean.

They're on Facebook, but as is the nature of Facebook you either have to friends with them to see their posts, or be in a closed group with them like "yikespotting" or "gae-sthetics".

They like to hang out on the pages of other sjws like Sophie Labelle or on open pages - group of them finally turned the last asexuality page I followed from people with actual low sex drive/no sex drive to every special sexuality out there - because that way everyone can hear them. They don't last long in other groups that aren't sjw based.

Livejournal? It's dead except for some drama comms and collector comms, but when it comes to pure tumblr special snowflakes, they jumped to tumblr in 2012 so I wouldnt be surprised if they jump back.

And the best thing would be that a lot of the blame lies with the users. For example, some of the most reblogged posts in the last few days have been about how to disable ads on your blog, like it's the most important thing in the world to make sure the free service you heavily rely on is as unprofitable as possible.

Look, ads suck and all but they exist for a reason. The site needs to make a profit and it ain't free to keep up a major website like tumblr. Granted if I had the money for like a Premium/Ad-Free Membership like Deviantart, I'd probably pay money for it because I'm a sperg like that. Sadly, way too many of these tumblrinas are either too ignorant about this, or don't give a shit about a website losing profit and thus causing the website to eventually go down.
