Turns out that horns exist outside of the context of Jewish services and people making them out of actual animal horns were so frequent its literally why the instrument is called a horn in the first place.

I don't think you have anything to worry about with those two examples, honestly. Not only are they both men, they're both dead, and troons literally don't give a shit about racism, they only care about things that might affect them. Another funny coincidence is all of these troons suddenly turning into proper game critics talking about how (aside from the alleged blatant bigotry) the game is seemingly "just pure shit and utter garbage". (How would they know without playing?) Then you visit their blog and all they talk of is the run-of-the-mill goyslop (Last of Us, Rick and Morty, etc.)

The game itself is honestly really fun. Bought it after watching jersh's streams and playing through it with the missus. The gameplay is really nothing to write home about but the level of detail and the immersion it achieves (which should be the goal of an HP game) are stellar.

There’s plenty of games with bad and morally flawed developers behind them. Troons only get mad at this one because they know Rowling is a rich woman who’s arguably an icon, and she doesn’t support troons. Absolute gold.

What we're seeing here is a bunch of terminally online people not understanding why certain tactics were adopted by historical activists.

The purpose of a boycott is to inflict economic damage on a target until they cave and stop "doing the thing". They're forced to chose between being financially sustainable or giving up the thing.

This doesn't work with JK Rowling or Warner Bros (of which the game studio is s subsiduary) because even if nobody ever bought a single copy of the game ever, it would not harm them, because Harry Potter is such a profitable IP and already has generated obscene amounts of money. Boycotting or not boycotting the game exerts zero pressure on JK Rowling, and purchasing it does not enable JK Rowling to "spread more transphobic hate" because she can do that for the rest of her life with the money she already has, even if she never received another royalty cheque.

"It will make more people aware of JK Rowling" is also stupid because everyone's already heard of JK Rowling and Harry Potter, and if they hadn't, they'd have heard about her from trans twitter screeching.

Additionally, this game is harmless. There is no transphobic message in this game, it's actually very inclusive, so they can't claim the game spreads a negative message.

So all that's left is "Boycott the game because TERF lady bad", which has no material impact on anything. That's why any materialist argument that comes up is ridiculous - "Playing Harry Potter means terfs will feel more powerful and murder trans people" is stupid because getting a bunch of pixels to cast Wingardium Leveosa is obviously not going to lead to trans murders. "If I see my friend suddenly gets a butterbeer achievement on Steam, I will be immensely triggered and then kill myself" is too abstracted from cause and effect, and also is far too transparently "if you don't do what I say, I will kill myself".

Boycotts that are pointless besides virtue signalling moral purity do not achieve anything, and therefore very few people will engage with them. Besides, as trans twitter likes to very frequently point out - there is no ethical consumption under late capitalism

If you read the article on the left, you can see the pogrom actually happened in 1614, not 1612. And if the goblins are supposed to represent Jews, how does it make sense that the game developers would choose the date of the 'Goblin Rebellion' to coincide with an episode of anti-Jewish mob violence? Besides, this kind of thing happened all the fucking time in Europe from the Middle Ages into the 20th century, it's not like this is some special date, it's just a coincidence.

This actually reminds me of something I was thinking about last year, when there was that shooting at the gay club and, of course, the troons managed to make it all about them using the fact they've somehow managed to squirm their way under the LGBTQWTFBBQ umbrella.

The fact that this particular shooting took place on Trans Day of Remembrance, something only terminally online Reddit tier genderdorks care about, meant it was totally a transphobic hate crime and not just a homophobic sped shooting up a gay club because he himself was a closet homo who hated faggots.
