To be fair to Ollie, it's not a great angle and he's hunched over so the outfit looks even more bad than it probably would normally. Leather pants only really work if you have a bit of ass to fill them out, though. Henry Hotspur is a legend in these parts so I am offended on his behalf at such an unflattering portrayal. Olly's identification with the north and his interaction with northumbrian culture and history interests me a lot, being a geordie brat myself.

Also I am begging Olly to shampoo and blowdry his hair at least once before taking a selfie that he intends to post online. It always looks so lank and sad. Flat hair is your worst enemy if you have a big fuckin head and manly features.

I'll admit that I have better knowledge of the actual historical figure than the Shakespeare character when it comes to Hotspur so I might be missing something, but I'm confused that he was made the closested troon in the play based on everything I know about him. Its like making Napoleon secretly trans.

Also, its not a great angle because you can actually see his overall frame and build from the tight clothes he's wearing, its the perennial issue troons always have, they can sometimes look ok and even pass, even Chube!, when they find good angles, filters, and tons of makeup for still instagram photos of just their head, especially when they've inevitably had surgery too, but people perceive sex as the sum of many parts, so when you see them 'in the wild' like this suddenly everything becomes way more difficult and completely unconvincing as a woman. People like Olly and Dylan Mulvaney have this fundamentally square build that stands out as unmistakeably male, big broad shoulders, no hips at all and basically no curves beyond their shitty HRT tits.

Olly's northern identity is quite inconsistent generally. I wonder if he's secretly a bit self conscious about it, because he knows that everyone else knows that he went to a private school and then fucked off to London at the first opportunity. Being middle class and wanky doesn't stop you from being northern, but it does lend a veneer of inauthenticity if you try and pretend to be a working class city dweller when you're very obviously from Gosforth.
 
Props to the lighting crew at the theatre for choosing the harshest, most glaringly exposing light and shadows to emphasize every corner of maleness in the 3 troons. The skinny one almost looks okayish front on (still not female, obvs, but not outright horrifying. That voice tho.) but then he turns to the side and has a giant honker you could hang a coat off and a male brow bone to battle even Olly's.

Why Olly decided to wear a nude lipstick which only shrinks his mouth to the size of a Cheerio and black eye makeup which sets his eyes even further back into his giant skull... and then the costume. It's like a kiwi dressed him for ultimate humilation. Is that part of the sissy fetish or does he honestly think he looks good?
 
Independent/fringe plays can be good but just like going to improv or amateur stand-up night, you're rolling the dice at disadvantage.

This reeks of vanity and narcissism and between the cringe trailer that's edited like a wannabe gay Michael Bay movie and the absolutely anemic sections they clipped to stir up interest... it looks embarrassing. Seriously, ignoring internet stalking Chube and everything, if you had no idea about any of this shit and saw that trailer what would be your takeaway? What's the plot? What's the story? What's the gist?

The only remotely interesting thing I could charitably give is that... there's a meta/fourth-wall breaking element to it? So I guess that's something? But even that vaguely intriguing hook is completely context-less in the void of everything else this is and if you tried to tell me "Shakespeare but they know they're in a play!" I'd shrug. All I got was some overacting and distracting lighting that let me feel some second-hand embarrassment via the overlit crowd of deathfats in masks sitting around.
 
At the time of writing, the trailer has 88k views on the PT channel and 83 (0.083k) views on Nebula's channel. Pretty striking. Despite his ambitions, the play really wasn't for a general audience. It's for Olly's fans. As much as he wants to strike out of his Youtuber identity, well, that's going to be a real struggle.

Not saying it sounds good but a reverse fourth wall break with a specific angle on the material is a legitimate hook. All Olly tells a potential viewer is “this is a play. Plz watch”
