President Joe Biden on Tuesday said that the United States will impose sanctions “far beyond” the ones that the United States imposed in 2014 following the annexation of the Crimean peninsula.

“This is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Biden said in a White House speech, signaling a shift in his administration’s position. “We will continue to escalate sanctions if Russia escalates,” he added.

Russian elites and their family members will also soon face sanctions, Biden said, adding that “Russia will pay an even steeper price” if Moscow decides to push forward into Ukraine. Two Russian banks and Russian sovereign debt will also be sanctioned, he said.

Also in his speech, Biden said he would send more U.S. troops to the Baltic states as a defensive measure to strengthen NATO’s position in the area.

Russia shares a border with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

A day earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered troops to go into the separatist Donetsk and Lugansk regions in eastern Ukraine after a lengthy speech in which he recognized the two regions’ independence.

Western powers decried the move and began to slap sanctions on certain Russian individuals, while Germany announced it would halt plans to go ahead with the Russia-to-Germany Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

At home, Biden is facing bipartisan pressure to take more extensive actions against Russia following Putin’s decision. However, a recent poll showed that a majority of Americans believe that sending troops to Ukraine is a “bad idea,” and a slim minority believes it’s a good one.

All 27 European Union countries unanimously agreed on an initial list of sanctions targeting Russian authorities, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, and EU foreign affairs head Josep Borell claimed the package “will hurt Russia … a lot.”

Earlier Tuesday, Borell asserted that Russian troops have already entered the Donbas region, which comprises Donetsk and Lugansk, which are under the control of pro-Russia groups since 2014.

And on Tuesday, the Russian Parliament approved a Putin-back plan to use military force outside of Russia’s borders as Putin further said that Russia confirmed it would recognize the expanded borders of Lugansk and Donetsk.

“We recognized the states,” the Russian president said. “That means we recognized all of their fundamental documents, including the constitution, where it is written that their [borders] are the territories at the time the two regions were part of Ukraine.”

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Putin said that Ukraine is “not interested in peaceful solutions” and that “every day, they are amassing troops in the Donbas.”

Meanwhile, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday morning again downplayed the prospect of a Russian invasion and proclaimed: “There will be no war.”

“There will not be an all-out war against Ukraine, and there will not be a broad escalation from Russia. If there is, then we will put Ukraine on a war footing,” he said in a televised address.

The White House began to signal that they would shift their own position on whether it’s the start of an invasion.

“We think this is, yes, the beginning of an invasion, Russia’s latest invasion into Ukraine,” said Jon Finer, the White House deputy national security adviser in public remarks. “An invasion is an invasion and that is what is underway.”

For weeks, Western governments have been claiming Moscow would invade its neighbor after Russia gathered some 150,000 troops along the countries’ borders. They alleged that the Kremlin would attempt to come up with a pretext to attack, while some officials on Monday said Putin’s speech recognizing the two regions was just that.

But Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters Tuesday that Russia’s “latest invasion” of Ukraine is threatening stability in the region, but he asserted that Putin can “still avoid a full blown, tragic war of choice.”

The Terminator always seemed like a problem looking for a solution. Like Russia, in looking for a solution to losing tons of AFVs in urban warfare skipped right over the obvious answer of 'properly support our thunder runs with infantry' and went for 'funnel money into Uralvagonzavod to create yet more Russiaboo fap fuel that they'll only ever make more than a few dozen of at most'.
In the 70s or possibly early 80s the Bundeswehr looked at building something similar in function to the BMPT, built on a Marder chassis with a 57mm auto-loading Naval gun and TOW missile launcher as its main weapons, a tank defense vehicle that would concentrate on APCs, and light ATGM vehicles, freeing up tanks to fight other tanks in the hypothesized coming Third World War. Nothing came of the design, because as it happens, a dedicated anti-anti-tank vehicle is...well kind of silly. If your Tank Defense Vehicle goes boom, and your situational awareness is all about shooting up tanks, and you think, well, that BTR or BMP or Sagger team is already taken care of, we'll just shoot tanks and tanks only...you can see where that'd be a bad idea.

Anyway here's the beast if you're interested in reading up on it.

The only people underestimating the Chinese aerospace industry benefits are the Chinese. We made the same mistake of not taking Japanese aircraft seriously before WWII, believing them to be shitty knockoffs of American or German planes. The things people parrot about Chinese aircraft are almost identical with the names of the countries and aircraft switched around.

I'm also still waiting for the Polish invasion and annexation of western Ukraine that was supposed to happen a month ago or so according to Lukashenko and russian TV drunkards.
I think they've been saying this since 2014, if not earlier, not sure what they want to achieve with that?

if it's USA who is the problem, why not threat USA? Lel for a wannabe superpower, Russia is never willing to take a fight in the same weight class

One assessment seems applicable both to Japan then and China today. Their Aircraft Engines are complete shit. And continues to be the root problem with their Military Aviation programs.

Play to the ultranationalist tard right hoping for destabilization.
Eh It doesnt seem to be that Azov for all its adaptation to West and for being funded by Ukrainian Jew are the type to go homo.
Joined jul 5 only to talk about muh globohomo, and muh based russia, fuck off.

Look at the western conservatist right wing space and look at how many of those people are openly gay and how many are just still in the closet, god fucking damnit you people are all so fucking obsessed with gays and trannies and the general homo part of globohomo it's frankly quite funny.

Russia muat reeeally be fucking up considering russiaboos coming in here for the past few days have shared only this one piece of news as a "gotcha!"

But how long will it take until the order is fully sent to Poland?
Looks like they've got plenty of time. Russia is struggling to gain Donbass, forget taking entire Ukraine at this point. I seriously doubt Poland is in any real danger from Russia for the foreseeable future.

I'm gonna be honest, while Ukraine can definitely make Russia bleed, I don't think they can beat Russia, as in, reclaim all of their territory. There was a brief period where I though that this might be a possibility but not anymore. And frankly if you want to take care of the "Russia problem", NATO is gonna have to swallow the pants-shitting fear of nuclear war and go all in. And they won't. Not to mention that Russia is still linked to international globohomo and can coordinate with the US pretty well when the interest arises - see Syria - so there's a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff we're not seeing and I'm afraid Ukraine's fate has already been decided.
I don’t see them reclaiming Crimea, but perhaps pushing back the borders. This is more on Russia being inept and corrupt. Ukraine is too, but it’s fighting for it’s survival, Russia is not.

I wonder who makes them and thus profits from their existence.

The Japanese also didn’t give a fuck about the lives of their pilots. That played out well.

I had more sympathy for Russia before the war. They honestly deserve what’s going to happen to them.

"Why are those cowardly fucking ukraine-cucks refusing to surrender and submit to their glorious tradbased orthodox slavic brothers? dont they know what evil degenerate western globohomo will do to their children if russia doesnt win?!"

Even if they were not raping, torturing, and murdering civilians en masse out of seething tard rage when their "supreme and stronk russian military might" delusions hit the brick wall of reality for the last 6 months, the sheer ineptitude and inability to function to anywhere near the minimum standards of NATO militaries from the freakin 70s/80s of what had been endlessly and autistically hyped as the "No.2 most powerfulest military on earth (but basically no.1 because russia stronk) " makes me actively eager to see just how bad shit can get for them going forwards.

It reminds me how some apologize for the Germans in WWII and cry about the Allies defending themselves instead of embracing their based invaders.

Chinese planes have cool paints which makes them better.
The paint schemes is on point at least.

Yes, definitely. It's a record of utter failure for the Chicoms while Japan did the business. The Chicom military craft have an unfortunate issue with catching fire too. Japan is like China relatively bereft of resources but Japan was able to help themselves. The Chicom resource imperialism these days would fail the moment the US Pacific Fleet and allies close sea lanes.

The Battle of Tianamen Square (waged mostly with Moslem minority troops against not so well armed students) is the only known Chicom victory while the rest were bloody stalemate of one sort or another unless one goes back decades.. Commie armies are primarily designed first of all to quash revolts. Only when nationalism is mixed in, say Russia in WW2, with Vietnam (where the US sponsored the murder of Ngo Diem the only foe Ho Chi Minh respected) or earlier with Red China itself, does Communism have any military held.

Chicom simps seem to be seething third worlders who love living in shit and mud and fags like Fuentes, plus the 50 centers shills, which include some pitiful Euros and Americans.

Remember: being terminally corrupt, degenerate, and destructive to traditional cultures and social norms in every conceivable way is 100% awesome and #based so long as you dress it up in the right edgy-authoritarian buzzwords

(This is also why you get self declared communists and stalinists pushing the exact same schtick about the russia right now)
