LaBelle did another interview. The title of it really says it all.

And another comic(or a repost)

Well, at least Guilluame Labelle admits that there are two genders, and only two genders.
Now all he needs to understand is this: You are the gender you're born as, but if you want to change, nobody cares, just don't be a dick about it.
... and he also needs to understand other people, how he is wrong most of the time, how to take criticism, and that the world doesn't revolve around him...and tell parents not to indoctrinate kids into believing this gender bullshit...
....and how to draw better....

I'm pretty sure Sophie is legitimately trans, but is unfortunately fucked in the head by tumblr-tier shitty gender politics. So she actually experiences severe dysphoria, but since that's politically unacceptable to the tucute contingent, has to pretend this isn't so.

Assigned Male is her desperate attempt to reconcile her politics with the reality she actually lives.

I have rarely seen a person in more desperate need of a good hug.
It could just be that he's really in denial and due to some sort of hang up he just can't come to terms with being gay.

Granted, you could be completely right, but stranger things have happened.

I wish I could rate this 'Skeleton420Racewar'.

"Assigned Male" is an ugly webcomic and I would not have sex with it.

Since I presume some people will not want to read the whole interview, I've taken some notable excerpts.
Sophie: I still feel like Cinderella right now because before all this, I was simply drawing this comic for fun and suddenly, so many people seemed to relate to it. It’s really amazing. It’s also funny because when I wake up, I usually pick up my phone and ban 20-50 people from my pages as I want to keep those spaces safe, especially for youth. I have a lot of children reading my content, even though some comics discuss hetero/cis-normativity. Those kids are craving to find representation and are willing to read anything that includes a character like them.
Denique: That’s so responsible of you.
Denique: So would you say the characters in “Assigned Male” reflect your own personal experiences being a binary trans woman?
Sophie: Not at all. I transitioned quite early in my teenage years and I was raised by my brothers and my grandparents, so it was a very different experience. I think the biggest thing that Stephie (main character) and I have in common, aside from us being white trans girls, is that we’re both outspoken and we “speak like adults”. Trans people often have to educate others on what they’re going through, which is why some people feel that the characters in my comics “speak like adults”. This definitely influenced how I made the characters talk. And we obviously both have a passion for gender studies. (Laughs)
Denique: You’ve experienced criticism from men’s rights activists, but also TERF (trans exclusionary radical feminists) groups and transphobic cis gay people. If you could meet your critics for coffee, what would you say to them?
Sophie: First, they would see that I’m not the monster they’ve been trying to paint me as. (laughs) Anytime I’ve met someone with conflicting views, we got along fine. People think that, because I draw a feminist/trans comic, I want to pick fights online with randoms but I’m truly the last person who would engage in that sort of behavior.
Sophie: I’ll tell you a secret here; there’s this rule in trans communities, often called the “Morgan M Page rule”, that specifies that trans women will not criticize another trans woman in public. I respect that rule and I don’t pick fights with other trans women or other trans folks as we already have so much bullshit to deal with every day.

"Speak like adults". No, you speak like crazy people by using made-up words and taking stock in those made-up words.
So, basically, Assigned Male came from Labelle's ego trips when his family called him "smart" and said he "spoke like an adult."
An ego trip coming from an ego trip... We need Egoraptor on board.
Or "Trapped in the Closet".
(I know that reference is dated, but it fits.)

"I transitioned quite early in my teenage years"
" in my teenage years "

Aka, he hit puberty before transitioning, or at least was at the beginning of it. Why does this person still hang on to kids then? Apparently he has nothing in common in Stephie other than both "talking like adults" because they "educated themselves" too, so why an eleven year old? Sure, he is now letting them age, but I am sure that he is only doing it because he reads our thread. Heck, I think this whole "She talks like an adult cause I did" BS just comes from him reading our thread.

After all...
"It’s also funny because when I wake up, I usually pick up my phone and ban 20-50 people from my pages as I want to keep those spaces safe, especially for youth."
His facebook page is a "safe space" and doesn't allow criticism. We are all he has, regarding that.

I get that LaBelle probably wants to "help" children be able to "decide" what gender they are early on. But there is also the fact that you usually don't just "decide" your gender, just as much as you don't decide whether or not you like dick or vag. You just do.
I agree that parents shouldn't force kids to play with barbies or toy trucks if they don't want to, but that age is more or less becoming a thing of the past as well.

Just spoilering because this is a side note, but still relevant to the topic and I don't want my post getting tooo long.

This isn't about transgenderism. This is about an optician being a dick. The parents just could insist on getting a pair of purple glasses and that is that. There is no victory for trans people, because this is a stupid boy getting a pair of fucking purple glasses. Purple isn't even a "girl" color.
But LaBelle and many others like him seem to be far to far away to notice. This kid likes purple, maybe saw spyro, a (boy) dragon and liked it so he wanted his glasses like this. There is no gender expression and no sign of that this kid might rather be a girl or trigender or a nonbinary ogre.

I found the following relatively video, and I don't think that it has been posted in this thread yet. It seems to have been filmed during Labelle's big European tour.
