Here's a piece from Vanity Fair from 2003 about the cool hip new dude everybody was talking about at the time in New York. His name was Jeffrey Epstein, and interestingly, the piece mentions that he had a copy of Marquis de Sade’s
The Misfortunes of Virtue on his desk. He was an avowed fan of Sade, something that would come out later, due to his more clandestine activities that have recently come to light. Anybody who has ever taken the time to look into Sade's work, particularly the 120 days of Sodom, knows that it's not some innocent kinky story, but is literally about a man exulting in the torture and degradation of women.

It and its author were rightfully reviled, before they got rehabilitated in the early 20th century (it was only formally published in 1904), by perverted freaks in the arts world who liked the idea of total freedom from consequence that Sade epitomized in his work. The interesting thing about Sade though is that he was all for women's equality before the law, and was contemporaries with early feminist figures like Mary Wollstonecraft. In many ways he reminds me of the modern liberal misogynist, who presents a surface level belief in the equality of women, which hides a deep-seated hatred and misogyny he has learned to mask. That's why I always find it funny that feminist thinkers, from Simone de Beauvoir to Camille Paglia, have all written works trying to rehabilitate him and pretend like the horrifying things he wrote about have some sort of symbolic or artistic merit. But the real truth is that Sade's two-sided hatred of women comes out of a narcissism that leads him to desire the ability to do whatever he wanted to them without consequence. His desire was predatory and deranged, and he was and is far from alone in that sort of desire among men. He didn't care about women getting educated, because his interests ran purely towards the exploitation of the women beneath him in social standing (there was basically always a power differential in the men and women in his work), so education for rich women of high standing meant nothing to him. Epstein liked Sade, and passed his works around, because he had that same predatory impulse and wanted to spread that philosophy around as much as possible.
And yet, Epstein was able to operate within all the elite circles of power in the US for decades, and act as a procurer for the most powerful American men over the 30 years. Was that because of the homosexual agenda, or because men hate women, or at the very least hate when they exist as anything other than readily available sexual objects for their gratification?
It needs to be said again: Men hate women, even as they desire them. Not just straight men, gay men too, thought the desire there is twisted in a different way from the usual. But, talk to any group of 5 guys for long enough without women around and at least 1 of them is going to come out with something truly heinous to say, like fucking clockwork. Will it be about how bitchy and entitled they all are? Will it be about how he loved his submissive South Asian girlfriend because she wasn't a cunt like western women? Will it be about how his boss dresses like a slut and he'd really like to fuck her, and by his tone you can tell he doesn't mean it a nice way? Or will it be about how jealous he is of their beauty? All of these and more are possible (I have heard them all). It's not every man, but it's enough of them, and when these men get power, they start showing exactly what they believe. And it has been true for a lot longer than whatever recent cultural trend people want to blame it on, across race and class.
The left and right want to pretend that it's the other side that has the problem with women. The Left in particular loves to use the obvious misogyny of right-wingers as fodder for why their side is the righteous and good one. But the truth is that hatred of women crosses ideology and politics, it has never been properly dealt with, and the wolves are everywhere. It's the same on both sides, the same hatred of womanhood, the same craving for youth and innocence. Blame gays all you want, they aren't the ones forcing record numbers of women and girls into the sex trade every year. 70% of the people forced into human trafficking are women, most of them for some combination of sex and forced labor, and contrary to popular belief, most stay within the global region they originated in, so it's Americans doing it do Americans (or Mexicans) in about 74% of cases in the US.
Some well articulated points about the bizarre relationship between gay men and women in this thread, however there's the key point missing: this is a generation of single mothers and absent fathers, many of the latter disappeared against their will. Can't shake off the feeling that this is some kind of deep, internalized hatred against everything women represent, and the roots can be found in motherhood trauma adding up to gay men seeing women as something borderline useless, even more now that white western women are doing everything possible to salt the earth.

Broken families used to be the purview of black Americans, before becoming more and more common in recent years among white Americans. Now, there's a direct correlation between economic strife and broken families, and poverty is the number one indicator for having children out of wedlock, so these are a symptom of the general erosion of living standards in middle class America. The social problems people attribute to "single mothers" is in fact what living in extreme economic instability does to people. But given the fact that black America had this issue first, where is the wave of powerful black gay Americans working to destroy women? Oh what's that, most powerful gays in the US are white? And come from moderate to extreme wealth, like almost every other powerful person in the US? Same as all the fucked up religious leaders, who also hate women, being white and from wealth. Strange.
As a side note, Sade was abandoned by both his parents, but Epstein grew up in a perfectly normal middle class American household. Points against single mother hatred being the cause I guess.
