Okay, what. Does Tumblr think you have to be a rape victim (whoops, sorry, r*pe victim) to read fucking Lolita now? You can't read a major work of 20th-century literature unless you can show the internet your victim card first? I really hope I'm misunderstanding those super defensive tags.

Personally I love Lolita and will defend it to death as literature and as art - but not as erotica. There is absolutely nothing worth fantasizing about in Lolita and if you think there is, regardless of whether or not you're a trendy Tumblr victim and thus figure you're allowed to because reasons, you either need to reread it with your hands where you can see them this time or never ever go near it again. Humbert's narrative voice is seductive but profoundly unreliable and as a person he is absolutely fucking despicable: he is supposed to be, even in his own words he is presented as such, and at the last he knows he is.

Also, I've read it about a million times and that last quotation isn't even accurate. It's 'He broke my heart. You merely broke my life'. There is absolutely no nearly about what Humbert does to Lolita in that book. If Sander Safe Space here really relates to that quotation so much, she should at least be able to quote it right. /literature spergery

tumblr goes as far as to ask actual victims to show their I'm A Victim Of ___ card before they're allowed to enjoy something. like they're entitled to that information once you say you enjoy something "problematic." i have no doubt in my mind that this person would go as far as to do something like that just so they can have their stamp of approval on someone liking something.

I don't think she's out there enough to be considered a cow, especially since she's posted about seeing a therapist to help her mental issues and sneaking around her mom to be put on meds. Same with the pussy vagina issue. She's posted about dreading a gyno visit but bringing her girlfriend with her to help her nerves.
Like I said with the dad thing, she could just be failing to differentiate between a biological father and a possible stepdad.
There's a hell of a bunch of 'ifs' when it comes to her cow behavior. I'm not sure that there's enough to justify a thread.

She acts like a literal toddler, and her girlfriend treats her like one; she chimps out and throws temper tantrums over the slightest things, like not getting a URL she wanted. And that's not even mentioning her creepy openness about her pus-filled vagina. She may also be a pedo, based on her "Lolita" post. And on top of all this, it seems she's been doing this for years. She's definitely thread material.

Honestly, the Sander Cohen stuff is what got me reading this thread. If it had been someone from Steven Universe or Five Nights at Freddys.. meh.. that's run of the mill stuff. But Sander Cohen.. and trans Sander Cohen at that...

Most likely it's to stop the posts showing up in tumblr search to keep them to her hugbox. I've seen a lot of people on tumblr censor popular search terms for that reason.

edit: could be the above too tbh, I just assumed this because of the words she was censoring
 
I remember her begging people to donate to her, for living reasons at the time or some shit. and i remember her telling me offhandedly how she was going to use the money from donations to get a statue of sander cohen that only was given to certain staff members of bioshock. it is upwards into the thousands of dollars range, and she bitched moaned and complained when someone bought one off ebay and it wasnt her. she also wanted to write a letter to the creator of bioshock about how the character of sander cohen "saved her life" apparently and how she " DESERVED THAT STATUE" and she wanted to get it by any means necessary even if that meant guilt tripping a video game creator.

The implication that it's okay to be a pedo if you claim to be a rape survivor (Or even if you were raped) is really messed up, it's like a pedophile on Tumblr used it as an excuse and now they're all just going along with it.

I thought the whole point of it was that it was a cautionary tale on how predators are manipulative & warp facts, like how Humbert sugar coated all the shit he did with his narrative & his retelling of events can't be trusted.

Bingo. He wrote Humbert to be disgusting and dislikable so that (in theory) readers would be disgusted with themselves for being able to sympathize -- which they wouldn't be able to avoid, since the book is essentially written from inside his head. Unfortunately, it hit the shelves and started selling like softcore porn. He talked a lot about how, afterwards, he found that terrible and how everyone missed the entire point.
