I kinda get what you're saying, but Ukraine asking for more military vehicles while also claiming they've actually gained numbers during the war is obviously propoganda and cannon fodder for the Russians in spreading doubt.

It'd be pretty easy for the Russians to put out stories that the Ukrainians are giving this technology to people that are barely trained in it (which would be the reality unless they train far more people than deemed sufficient)

Mariupol is the crowning clusterfuck of this war. Just on having Azov and Donetsk troops there, you already have the grudge match of the century. Add in the traditional Russian doctrine of leveling every building that so much as looks at them funny, a band of marauding Chechens, Azov's well-deserved reputation for channeling their inner Dirlewanger, the fact that somebody keeps blowing up the escape corridors, and Mariupol has probably passed Berlin on the scale of how fucked the city is, and is rapidly approaching Warsaw. The warcrime trials for this shitshow are going to last decades, regardless of who's conducting them.

The USSR collapsed because it was a laughably retarded shithole due to the fact that communism doesn't work. Communism doesn't even work in tiny hippie communes of middle class college graduates, all of which quickly collapsed due to bitter infighting, ego trips and free riders. It was never going to work in a sprawling empire of dozens of countries and hundreds of ethnicities, and the only way to make it look like it was "working" involved a massive police state, vicious repression and armed guards ready to murder people who tried to escape. This is like Josef Fritzl boasting that he was a successful family man.

During the 70 year experiment of trying to base an entire society on the proto-Reddit fantasies of a freeloading Jewish-German atheist neckbeard, actual productivity and living standards barely increased so they quickly resorted to lying their asses off about fictitious tractor production and whatnot. By the 1980's it was so pitifully far behind even the most backwards and poor-ass of capitalist European countries that the nomenklatura was looking for an exit strategy: perestroika and glasnost.
